I just caught a recent Bryan vs. Regal match in England on Superstars...Regal came out to "Real Mans, Man" and I lost it and so did everyone else including the ref...I seriously do not think I've seen another wrestler that is that much of a consummate professional when it comes to in ring work then Regal...Notice at the end how he even holds Bryan's hand up with his other arm that was not locked in the LeBell Lock...
If Henry can get a run with the strap after all this time I think its way past due for Regal to get a shine before he goes away and hopefully opens a training facility...

I think his chances are forever gone for the world title. Though I remember when he was Raw GM and won King of the Ring, he had MONSTER heat, it was perpostrious. But then he ruined for himself by getting suspended and when he came back, it was gone.

As a long time Regal mark I would have loved to see it happen, but he's probably going into the Hall of Fame regardless.

I adore Regal and would kill for him to get even a short little reign with it. What I would really love right now is a Bryan/Barrett feud with Barrett wanting to be the first British world champion and Regal showing him what for.

He missed his chance when he messed up after his KOR win and push in 08. I seriously doubt it would happen now, but put him in with Barrett and have Wade win the World or WWE Title with Regal as his mentor/manager.

As much as I would love for Regal to win the World title just once, he had his chance at the top of the card and he f***ed it up.

Regal does deserve at least one world title run if the wwe could forgive Hardy all the times they should forgive Regal and let him get at one reign before he retires heck have him replace Cole on commentary when he decides to retire

As much as I prefer Regal in every way, he is neither.

Regal as world champion isn't realistic, and frankly wouldn't be that cool.
Regal as the leader of an evil stable and manager and mouthpiece of an evil heel champion? Freakin' GOLD.

I don't think he'll get a world title run. I do however think the WWE should give him a thankyou run as Intercontinental Champion.
He's over enough to make it work and is great at putting people over so he'll make whoever beats him for the belt look like a star.
Gotta say, Regal is one of my all time favouries. He's a complete master at working the crowd. Just little things, the smug smiles, the shakes of the finger, the pleading with the ref whilst continuing to stomp on his opponent etc that either get the crowd to boo him or, if he's blatantly cheating when facing a heel, cheer him.
Some guys are so bland when they wrestle, they just hit the moves/chain wrestle and stuff which don't get me wrong, it can be okay but it doesn't really do much to distinguish themselves and get the crowd involved. Regal does and he is awesome at it.

I think they could give him a shot. Mark Henry has had so many injuries, and they gave him a run. Same with Edge. A wellness violation is not the same in terms of fault, but it is the same in terms of the bottom line, which is the wrestler having to drop the title and miss shows.
However, its entirely possible that they just don't see any money in a William Regal push at this point. As a fan, I want to see him, but its not like I think they're sitting on a goldmine with him.

Mark Henry's 40 but doesn't look TOO old. William Regal's 43 and looks like he may even be older than that. Maybe if he lost some of that gut he'd look better, but I always look at Regal and think he's 50.

I don't think Regal looks bad at all. I think he looks better in a lot of ways than he did in the 90s. The long hair definitely helps, though a bit of definition wouldn't go amiss.

Is he as believable as Henry? I doubt it. I would like to see him as world champion.
I'm sure he would have been given us a few years ago if he hadn't let himself down by getting suspended.

They also had one on SD that had JBL absolutely drooling on commentary, the man marked out for the pin attempt off of a knuckle lock/bridge. As for Angle, I'm sure they have but can't recall any off hand. Regal as champ, I'd LOVE to see it, but as has been said I really don't know if it will ever happen. Hell, even if it was just a week long run, let him win it and hold it for one show, that would be enough, but even that seems unlikely. One thign I will say, the first time I ever saw him in person, Regal is a LOT bigger than I ever thought he was.
