I think the opposite. I'm already tired of the worked shoot thing and I'm tired of this super-serious obsession wrestlers have with keeping kayfabe. Maybe it's because I'm a "smart" fan but I preferred when Twitter was being used by wrestlers to communicate with fans who otherwise would never have been able to interact with them, and get to know them as the people that they are. It added a lot of humanity to the business, and suddenly it's all getting subverted with this s***. Id much rather read worked tweets pushing a storyline further than them just replying to stupid turds who beg them for retweets all day long. Im a "smart" fan, and I think its good that theyre actually making an effort with the product. Good kayfabed wrestling looks believable, both in and out of the ring. This all seems very real with the effort that is going in to it. Twitter is where fans and wrestlers can get to know one another. I'm not talking about retweets and things like that. You can really get to understand them as people with it if you're respectful and you make passable conversation, and I think that's a better direction for twitter right now if it wants to be more popular overall. It's just theater and everythone outside of wrestling knows that, so why not own up to it and push itself as a performing art to get more respect rather than a bastardized hybrid that wants to be something it hasn't been for decades? Granted it wouldn't be accepted overnight, but allowing the wrestlers to be understood as the artists they are and as real people would help out greatly in the long run.

Granted it wouldn't be accepted overnight, but allowing the wrestlers to be understood as the artists they are and as real people would help out greatly in the long run. I'm with you, man. I respect the idea of keeping a new kayfabe, I really do. But Twitter, for the first time in years, has kind of started breaking down a barrier between celebrities and the general public. It used to be 'What I had for breakfast' tweets but it's evolved into something else completly. The mainstream news media is latching onto it so much because it's broken away from how celebrities usually do things through PR guys and media teams and just said things. Sure, it hasn't always gone well for them (See: Brown, Chris) but it's really allowed people to see people for who they are rather than what the media wants them to be and it's great. Same with wrestling. I don't follow a wrestler because I want the next evolution of what they play on TV in the same way I don't follow an actor because I want their character on my feed. I follow them because I respect the hell out of them for what they do for my entertainment and am interested in what they do, who they like culturally, what they choose to talk about. At the end of the day, they're people with a great, if sometimes damaging and cruel, job and I want to follow them as they take this journey even if it's something mundane like 'I went to the gym today, it was HARD!' Hell, the best person who has come out of this is Curt Hawkins. Sure, he's still in the storyline but he's not making big crazy kayfabed statements and he seems like a guy I want to hang out with because he's not taking it all so damn seriously. I respect that a tonne because, well, more people need to be like that in a business so bogged down with politics and backstage crap.

I never understood the obsession with celebrities personal lives. I care about John Cena the wrestler. Barring anything illegal, I couldn't give a damn about what he does in his own free time.

Exactly. Nobody is going to identify with a guy who plays a psychopath with anger management issues in the ring nicknamed "The Viper" just because they both watch Breaking Bad. Im not saying Twitter should be al kayfabe, but this is an unprecedented step in WWE angles. And it's made for seriously entertaining reading.

Oh, I agree but it's not even that. For me, it doesn't feel like they're huge massive stars that noone can talk to anymore. I can throw a comment to someone telling them how much I like their work as soon as they've had a great match and they'll read it and appreciate it and might even reply to it. THAT'S why I appreciate Twitter the most. It just shows them as people and not massive inapproachable celebrities. They just happen to be cooler. Agree to disagree. It'd be better in a storyline where everyone doesn't look stupid.

They kinda have to kayfabe these big angles, at least if you want them to mean anything. I mean, if the majority of the roster 'walks out' and none of them even mention it on twitter, and go on about what they ate or whatever, then who's going to care? They'd be giving the message that it didn't mean anything, even if we know they're not going anywhere.
Plus, its not like they've all completely shut off to the public. They're still tweeting about other things, so I don't see the problem.
They all seem to do a pretty good job of mixing whatever personal stuff with whats going on wrestling wise.

This is where we differ in thinking. I think the wrestling aspect is nice and all, but these are all real human beings, and while I'm not so interested in their personal lives, I'm very interested in how they think and act as real people in real situations, how they think about the business, and how they think about other things too. It's cool to hear back, and it's even cooler, I think, that maybe one nice convo with them can turn into several, and several nice convos can turn into actually making friends with one of these people. But again, I love their perspectives. I don't give a damn about newz scoops and staged interviews. I like to hear from them how they really feel about things and Twitter has certainly accomodated that. The sooner this ridiculous storyline is over, the better, for me.

KaitlynWWE @truekofi hey air-boom looked a little tired from carrying those heavy titles at the rally... Chickbusters can take them off your hands
TrueKofi @kaitlynwwe haha, y'all don't want none...
TrueKofi @kaitlynwwe actually, if you're volunteering to carry our bags, we might be able to work something out...
KaitlynWWE @truekofi if we carry your bags ... Does that mean we are the girl Air-Boom in training? Except slightly cooler and more witty, obviously
TrueKofi @kaitlynwwe Let's start out with the bag carrying, then we'll discuss the rest...
WWEAJLee @truekofi @kaitlynwwe Oh we're AirBoom and we're so cool cuz we jump & clap and then jump some more. (Read in a high pitched, mocking tone.)
KaitlynWWE @wweajlee @truekofi "look at us! We're soooo good at team work and matching our air-boom outfits. Look at us carrying our titles"
