I thought of this earlier this morning and always wondered how WWE DVD sales work.
Joey Styles often plugs a DVD and puts a link to Amazon.com which surprises me as I would think that WWE would want most of their sales to come from WWEShop.com, no?
So I'm just wondering if WWE would profit from sales on WWEShop.com the same as selling it on Amazon, and to a lesser extent in stores like Best Buy or WalMart. Does anyone know how these sales work?

A few questions about the Streak dvd........ Any exclusive blu extras? How bad are attitude era matches edited? One of my favorite matches was the Taker/Flair match. Is rollin edited out?

Blu-Ray has some of the video packages that aired before the matches. The "WWF" scratch logo is blurred out. Other than that, nothing. All matches are complete. The DVD is rated TV-14, so blood is not censored. Yes, "Rollin'" is edited out and so is Johnny Cash's "Ain't No Grave".

Made my first serious DVD purhcase ever this morning.
I bought "The Streak" at K-Mart and got "The Undertaker's Deadliest Matches" with it as well. I'm very happy.
Though, I do have to say that it's nice to see most of Undertaker's entrance from WrestleMania XIX, as it was cut out entirely from the "15-0" DVD set. While the generic riffing may be obviously out of place, you also have to consider that Fred Durst was forced to sing a cleaned-up version of Rollin', and they weren't good live performers in the first place. I also thought it was funny you saw an aerial view of when 'Taker hugged Durst.

I think it could be one of two things: 1) Amazon pays for online promotion from the company. or 2) Amazon sells these items at a discounted price the first week or so by taking the hit themselves on the price. It's the Circuit City business model of giving you an incredible discount on a new item in hopes that, while you're ordering from them anyway, you'll also buy something at a regular price. By directing followers to Amazon, the WWE makes the same amount of money at a price more appealing to the customer, which not only moves more units but increasing word of mouth early on so that once the sale ends, the WWE becomes the go-to site for it.

I went into a closing Blockbuster today. I bought Wrestlemania 23 (I already have the three disc set, but this one has exclusive bonus material), Judgment Day 2007, One Night Stand 2007, and Summerslam 2008.

Hell, many free blog/website hosts have options to where if you mention/promote a product and link to it's AMZN page, anytime someone clicks that link and buys the product, the blog/site get's X% of the money made from that sale.

I got a copy of Judgment Day 2002 on DVD yesterday. Is this rare at all? I think it was the first WWE DVD released as apposed to WWF.

If its the Canadian version released by KOCH, then its rare, but nowhere near as rare as the US release. If its any version outside North America then its very common. The reason the US version is so rare is because it was only sold on WWE Shopzone for a small period of time, the same with Vengeance 2002, so the US versions of both are very rare, and sell for higher prices. Speaking of rare.... Have you ever seen so much rare in one picture? {Spoiler} It was hard taking that photo being in the presence of such rareness! All kidding aside, I'm just proud of the gems of my collection.

Hell, many free blog/website hosts have options to where if you mention/promote a product and link to it's AMZN page, anytime someone clicks that link and buys the product, the blog/site get's X% of the money made from that sale. Let me be an example of this if you don't mind. My blog, Bad Booking's Blogs (link in the signature), uses Amazon Associates for affiliation. How it works is this: you usually get 4% for links and 15% for banners (though the banners haven't worked in months). The data gets refreshed everyday, and whatever you earn in a month, and this is important, is paid two months in arrears. To apply, all you have to do is successfully link your blog/site, and then promote products you know are related to the subject matter of the piece. For example: Here is Wrestlemania 28 You click on the link. In the above bar that displays the actual website for web page, you'll see the website broken down into the link then the code unique to that AA user. Clicks count some, buys count more. I just want to empathize too that Amazon also tells you (in the fine print) that you must acknowledge that you use AA for their links (it's in the about me page on the blog).

Speaking of purchasing DVD's, I went to a Target inside of a mall yesterday and picked up Decade of Decadence for $5 yesterday. Couldn't pass it up, PERFECT!

The Warrior bonus disc has 3 bonus matches Warrior vs Hercules from MSG Warrior vs Savage Summerslam 92 Warrior vs Rude Summerslam 90 The extra disc on the Piper set just has like 4 or 5 more Pipers Pits. The only reason to seek these sets out is for the rarity of them, the actual bonuses aren't all that lol.

TFM, if I may say it again, you are an incredible resource and these boards are lucky to have you.
I just got the Jake Roberts and Road Warriors DVDs from best Buy since they were both super marked down. I wonder what the reasoning was to package Roberts with the book sampler. Me thinks it might be to obscure how horrible misaligned the spine art is on the DVD.

There is a version of the Jake Roberts DVD without the book sampler, more than likely produced after the original production run. Neither version is hard to come by though. The spine art is probably bad on purpose lol.

Anyway, the bad spine art might just be chalked up to Roberts' horrible luck. Have you ever noticed it? It's all misalligned and left of the center, making it look super awkward next to other WWE discs on a shelf.
