@wweajlee: As Raw GM, I've decided at #Summerslam this Sunday, @mikethemiz will defend his Intercontinental title vs @reymysterio .How awesome is that?

There's something about this card that I like: a lot of matches featuring former World Champions. Punk/Show/Cena Sheamus/Del Rio Ziggler/Jericho Miz/Mysterio Trips/Lesnar Bryan/Kane 6 so far, just like Wrestlemania 26. I might get this, if I was the kind to order PPVs.

At least this Summerslam's build is way better then last years. Didn't they only announce like 3 matches a head of time?

Theory for the World Heavyweight Championship. It's a three step process, and it requires Sheamus/Del Rio to happen relatively early:
1) Sheamus beats Del Rio and Del Rio cheapshots him after the match. Or maybe Del Rio cheats and wins and Sheamus punishes him with a post match beatdown. Or maybe Del Rio gets disqualified for using a weapon. The point is that the champion is vulnerable.
2) Ziggler cashes in Money In the Bank and wins the title.
3) Jericho says he wants his match with Ziggler to be for the title. Ziggler says he has nothing to gain from putting his title on the line. Jericho goads him, and Ziggler finally agrees on condition that when ("not if, but when") Jericho loses, he's gone from the WWE. This will prove once and for all that Jericho can't win the big one and Ziggler will go down in history as the man who retired Chris Jericho. Ziggler goes on to win the match.
This gives us a shiny new champion, a fitting explanation for why Jericho is out of the company, and WWE gets to brag that the WHC was defended three times in one night.

That...would be kind of friggin' awesome. You then have an instant feud with Sheamus because of it. Sounds great!

I suggested the same thing with a thread some while ago. Though,I think the match should be at Wrestlemania.

Am I the only one that has been really impressed with the build for this show? They haven't made me care this much, specifically in the midcard. Taking a look at each match individually: Show vs Punk vs Cena - Everyone has looked strong in the build up on different weeks. I like how Punk is playing the mind games especially with Cena. Punk seems to work well in ring with Show. I think they could pull out a really good match together on Sunday. {Spoiler}Del Rio vs Sheamus - The only let down in the card in my opinion. There is no need for this match, I would have chosen Cody to take on Sheamus. Giving us a fresh match in the process Brock Lesnar vs HHH - As mishandled as the feud has been it does feel like an epic clash that should happen. I only hope Brock goes over. Kane vs Daniel Bryan - As wacky as it is, I really have enjoyed the build. They have history together and I have a feeling that Bryan would be able to get a good match out of him. Hopefully this leads to Bryan getting back into the title picture in a couple of months. I still think Rey would have been a better opponent, but I hope they are saving that for another ppv. Chris Jericho vs Dolph Ziggler - Really have enjoyed this build. Kind of reminds me of the first Jericho vs HBK feud, with them having similarities and one wanting to knock the off on a big stage to prove he doesn't have it anymore. Should be a great match up as well. Miz vs Rey - Least amount of build but could end up being a good match like they have had in the past. Kofi and Truth vs PTP - good amount of build for a tag match and the most I have cared for one in a long time. I hope PTP win this one. Cesaro vs Santino - would have been better that this was on the main card. I hope for a new champion here. I am also betting a Wade Barrett return at the event. And that Brock vs HHH goes on last, only for Punk to attack HHH after he has lost against Lesnar. This looks like a really strong card on paper, with some potentially great matches (triple threat, miz vs rey, ziggler vs jericho, hhh vs lesnar). I enjoyed last years, but it could be even better than that. Is anyone else as invested as I am?

I really like the card. Brock/HHH is a big marquee match which Summerslam has lacked in recent years. Jericho/Ziggler should be great. WWE/World title triple threat matches on PPV have always delivered ever since I can remember so I'm expecting the WWE title match to be good even with Big Show in there. Bryan/Kane seem like they work well together. The IC and Tag title matches look decent too.
The only thing I would change is the World title match. Sheamus/Alberto is just not a Summerslam level World title match, even by Smackdown standards. I get that they think leaving Randy Orton off the card is their way of punishing him for the wellness failure but I think it would really have made this card even bigger if he was the one facing and putting over Sheamus here.

I'm surprised they put location stats. I just assumed that the Staples Center would be SummerSlam's permanent location indefinitely.

Anyone else expecting a Rock run in tomorrow?
He went out flat on his ass last we saw him, I can't imagine that'll be the last image we had of Rock before the Rumble build up.

I find it hilarious that the only match I care about is on the pre-show.

Looking forward to this a bit. I haven't even been keeping up with the shows but PPVS like this still grabs me. Never thought I'd see the day where I would be a casual viewer again.
