If this frees up the Surfer and Galactus for the main movie universe, sign those papers!

well whilst not ideal, if they do get Galactus and surfer it does heavily suggest who they would use if/when they make the third Avengers movie (going by the pretty safe assumption Thanos is the big bad for the second movie) x

Is it mean that I want Spider man and X-Men films to bomb so Marvel can get the rights back to them?

maybe I'm misremembering, but didn't Fox want to make a Daredevil sequel fairly shortly after the Director's Cut of the first one got such favorable reviews but Ben Affleck said he didn't want to do any more action movies because they were "boring"?

Fox should jump at this.
They have a decent chance of making money with the unadventerous street level stuff, but as they proved last time round, they dont have a cosmic stomach.
Losing Daredevil for the chance to see a Marvel done Surfer and Galactus would be totally worth it

Does New Line/Warners still have the rights to Blade, or do Marvel own those now?

Reading this story put in my head the image that each individual Marvel character is some kind of athlete with how it talks about them being traded and stuff.
Trading Daredevil for Galactus and Silver Surfer? Yes please.

I'd rather see them use some actual Avengers villains, like Kang, Ultron, or the Masters of Evil.

So, who would be a good candidate to play the new Matt Murdock/Daredevil?

I wouldn't do it. Daredevil gives access to Kingpin, Elektra, Bullseye, amongst MANY MANY more characters from the Hell's Kitchen area, while marvel will only get back silver surefer and galactus. Screw that, the well's deeper in DD, so Fox better throw in the rest of the FF or they might as well fork over DD.

But those are all characters that dont really fit what Marvel are currently doing with their films; namely going bigger and more comic booky.
You aren't going to have Thor or Iron Man bothering with Kingpin and thugs in Hell's Kitchen, but you might get the Guardians of the Galaxy caring about what Galactus is up to

(lol) Daredevil could still be the "ground" level character (nolan-esque dare I say) that can re-establish the "Knights" line (Marvel owns Punisher, and Blade) giving them the leeway neccessary to bring out more obscure characters like Heroes for Hire, and so on. Plus Matt has had interactions with both Widow and Cap, and is a current Avenger, so it couldn't hurt.

Aye, they could do that, but Marvel seem to want to go big for cinema, and are talking about the street level stuff as TV products. A Daredevil tv show would work really very well. I was never a fan of Nolan's super serious stuff, so if getting back Galactus and Surfer mean Marvel for go going down that path for a bit, I wont be crying (except in joy over seeing Big G done right)
