I just received Showcase Presents The Spectre Vol. 1 in the mail, woo hoo! I think I'm addicted to these things...
Speaking of Spectre, I'm kind of surprised he's not a more popular character. He seems made for the movies too, it'd be like a middle ground between the feel of a Superman film and a Batman film. I think he's an unusual character in that whether he's battling street level thugs in an abandoned warehouse or cosmic super-villains in space he seems equally well suited to either setting.
When I say I'm surprised he hasn't caught on or been used more is that to me he fits right in with other characters that are especially popular with teens and adults like Batman, Punisher, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, etc.
