I did know about the 3-pack DVD, but I found this flick by itself at my local Family Dollar for 2 bucks in one of those paper sleeves they sell DVDs in. Which...you could do a lot worse for a 2 buck movie. And I have. Haha I actually went to Family Dollar yesterday to pick up some gift bags...of course I couldn’t help but browse their small DVD collection. They had one of those 20 Film Mills Creek collections for $6. I passed on it though as at this point it would just be stacking my mountain of unwatched physical media I also have a stack of unwatched DVDs. I picked up a bunch of Severin releases when they had their mid-year sale. THE BURNING MOON was one of those pick-ups.

One of my favorite labels Sister of Ursula in particular is one that I’ve had sitting around in one of my stacks I’ve been meaning to get to haha.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. 2019.
Now this is how you make a PG-13 movie, with engaging characters played by talented a actors, that you care about and do not want to see die, a picture compensating for its lack of blood and gore with horrific and diturbing imagery.
I am too jaded myself but I can certainly see this scaring and creeping out a young audience. In my case the boil on the face had me looking away as I do not need to see that (you can thank the Gate 2 for that).
There are some familiar characters like bullies, rich folks doing anything to stay rich and those all for war because they do not have to go, characters you really enjoy seeing getting theirs.
Thankfully the piture kept the Vietnam war stuff subtle rather than preaching.
Not much more to say really, just advising to see it, great fun.
4 toe stews out of 4.

I almost saw that one at the movie theater. Instead I opted for Good Boys. I don’t regret the decision, but still need to see this one

Last time I made a count,so 2014 or so, I was sitting at over 300 bought and never watched dvds/blu rays. I'm sure since then I have added at least 100 to that count. Really the last 2 years I rarely turn on my blu ray player. If I want something for background noise I just go look around on Pluto ,B-Movie TV or Tubi for something. But a big part of that is my dvds/blu rays are unorganized and some are here at my place some are at my girl's place and then others are loaned out to friends. Gonna try to next year get all my media organized again and make an up to date list of what I own and what I own and have never watched.

Blood Quantum *DVD* Growing up in Canada I’ve actually seen quite a few native movies. They’re good. This one I liked because it had the one guy who was in the third season of Fear the Walking Dead and the guy who played Nobody in Dead Man. At the root it was just another zombie movie. The gore was good. That’s really it.

Ghoul School *Tubi* This one really moved at a snails pace and that’s too bad. When it got going it was really f***ing good. The gore it was pretty wretched stuff. And even the super low budget makeup was great. The humour was pretty funny and the acting extremely bad. The editing was hilarious and the music was some cool 1980’s metal. Once it got going I really liked this one. It was just a drag getting there.

Death House 6
This series of short horror films is a modern slasher series.
A guy in a Trump mask is killing people in a public park. The kills are low budget but the FX work is sometimes well done.
The acting on the other hand was pretty rough. Appears these are really only accessable on the B-Movie TV app,Roku Exclusive. Not a bad way to pass right at 40 minutes.

I got a few, splatter farm and VIdeo Violence 1 and 2 for sure, but haven't looked at prices for the others in a long time. Got on Feeders DVD THis Polonia Brothers Sci fi film IIRC managed to get into Blockbuster video. Like every damn Blockbuster at one time had a Polonia Brothers film on the shelf. Low Low low pretty much NO budget Sci Fi from a set of twin brothers. The aliens that attack earth appear to be made out of paper mache and twigs. Someone must have got the Sony 92 video camera that had the Special effects mode. I ,thru my parents getting it and never figuring out how to use it,got the Sony 92 Mini VHS camcorder in early 92. Had this SFX Mode where you could solorize or flip the colors of everything. In Feeders they are using this effect when the Aliens kill someone. Same DVD has AMong Us which I think is another Polonia Bros film. The dvd is from Sub Rosa Studios. Appears to just have each film with no extras on each side of the flipper disc. But it was less than a buck at the Pawn/Armory shop in town,Southern Pawn if anyone else is ever in the same town... I find a certain charm in the Polonia Bros stuff. BrodietheSlayer Can't remember if you and I have ever talked Polonia brothers but I do know you like low budget horror/sci fi.

American Guinea Pig: the Song of Solomon *Tubi* I’ve never seen the Exorcist since that movie is too scary for my liking. But this never gets to that level of scare. It does get to a wicked level of gore, which is more my taste. A lot of people would say it’s garbage and it probably is. But I’m the guy that gave Violent Shit 22/10. I think the acting is great. I’m not really religious at all but I thought it showed a great battle between good and evil. The music and camerawork was awesome and as I said the gore was insane. I saw it for free but this is one I’d buy. 18/10

It has some insane stuff (the Last House on Dead End Street!) and the commercials are a minute or two every thirty minutes. And I haven’t had a break at a pivotal part of a movie yet. There has to be a catch?

American Guinea Pig: Sacrifice *Tubi* A mentally unstable man ritualistically and brutally mutilates himself in a bathroom with various knives, screwdrivers, a drill and his own teeth. That plus some inner monologue is seriously the entire movie. Why is he doing it? The synopsis says it’s because he’s haunted by the death of his father and other traumatic events in his past but you could have fooled me since no other characters appear in the movie outside brief flashes of a naked girl calling herself “Ishtar”. It’s obviously gory and some of it is tough to watch (I had to fast forward one scene where a screwdriver goes exactly where you think it went) but it’s really not to interesting. Even at a little over an hour it feels really long.

Return to Nuke ‘Em High Volume 1 *Tubi* This movie was so f***ing dumb but so awesome. There was some over-the-top gore (surprisingly not much though) and lots of gratuitous nudity but it’s really just a dumb college comedy that’s so dumb it works. Turn your brain off and enjoy.

My review of Better Watch Out (2017)
Plot: Set amidst Christmas festivities, a babysitter defends a 12-year-old boy from a home invasion, but it turns out the biggest threat is coming from inside the home itself.
In the rollercoaster of a year that is 2020, Christmas horror seems more appropriate than ever. After all, holiday cheer spliced with endless news of death and destruction can’t help but feel reflective of the time we’re living in. That’s what lead me to Better Watch Out, a film posing the question “What if Home Alone were a horror movie?” It’s a sick, super twisty piece of holiday horror that’ll constantly leave you wondering where the hell it’s going, kinda like the year 2020 itself.
The film is labeled as a horror comedy, but I think that’s misleading. Outside of a few fleeting moments of humor, I don’t find it all that funny. The story is far nastier than its advertising would have you believe. There are a few moments where you think it’s leading down Last House on the Left territory of complete and unflinching depravity, but one of its smartest moves is turning the camera away at all the right moments, especially when it surpasses a level of gruesomeness or perversity. The story doesn’t even have all that much to do with Christmas. It could’ve happened at any time of year, though I guess the idea of gore set amidst holiday garland was too good for the filmmakers to resist.
It’s hard to talk about Better Watch Out without spoiling major plot points. It lives and dies by its twists. I can say it makes great use of its young actors. Olivia DeJonge plays a likable babysitter in peril, and both her current and ex boyfriends are a hoot. Levi Miller leaves the biggest impression as Luke, a performance that seemingly works to remind us that 12-year-old boys are the most terrifying creatures walking this earth. I’m not sure if it’s because of his performance or the way the character is written (probably both), but I wanted him to get his comeuppance so frickin’ bad. I really wanted to see this kid get absolutely pummeled. The film clearly wants us to feel this way, mind you; it just doesn’t quite deliver the goods, in my personal opinion.
The admittedly clever ending gives us some semblance of hope there’ll be a silver lining to the previous 90 minutes of terror, but it doesn’t feel like enough. I’m not asking for a totally happy ending; I just wish there were more of a rebuke of the antagonist’s behavior. Justice served would’ve been the best Christmas gift here, but it seems Better Watch Out only wants to punish the bad guy with a lump of coal in their stocking.

Blood Diner *Tubi* There’s dumb (and lord knows I love dumb) and then there’s dumb. This falls into the latter. I guess it’s a pseudo-remake of Blood Feast but with Troma levels of juvenile humour. There are times when it works but for the most part it’s the lesser of both forms. If you’re making a bad H.G. Lewis or a bad Troma movie you know you’re making a pretty terrible movie.

DREAM STALKER (1991) is a supernatural SOV slasher. Fashion model Brittney and her motorcross champion boyfriend Ricky are madly in love, but that doesn't stop Brittney from having reoccurring nightmares of Ricky killing her. These dreams don't stop even after Ricky has been dead for 3 years from a motorcycle accident, so Brittney seeks professional help. Her doctor figures out that Brittney has some sort of psychokinetic powers.
Brittney heads off to a cabin in the woods (uh oh) to get some distance from her everyday life. This cabin just happens to be near a camp for troubled teens (uh oh). Unfortunately, Brittney's dreams of Ricky only get more intense, and Ricky himself seems to return from the grave to kill anyone who stands between him and his long-lost love! Is Ricky actually a revenant or is Brittney using her latent powers to cause these deaths? Perhaps more importantly, how can they be stopped?
Originally titled KINETIC NIGHTMARE, DREAM STALKER is a blatant ripoff of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series of films with a much lower budget. Despite the financial setbacks the makeup and gore effects are pretty effective thanks to the work of Keith Lack (who also worked on the monster comedy FRANKY AND HIS PALS). Those effects, particularly Ricky's half-mutilated face, are the highlight of the film. The acting is fine, but sound quality problems result in lots of dialogue being indecipherable. Some characters are annoyingly written. And the soundtrack features a soundalike to a theme from FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD that recurs ad nauseum. I spent most of the film trying to figure out where I heard the music from before eventually my memory was jogged.
All told, DREAM STALKER isn't exactly recommended viewing, but I've seen much worse from the depths of SOV horror.

Bad Meat *DVD* (but it figures that a week after I ordered the DVD I see it on Tubi as well) This was a strange one. A bunch of delinquents are sent to a boot camp staffed by some serious asshole but things take a swerve when the camp chef (who the staff treat worse than the “campers”) feeds the staff some seriously bad meat. After much puking they become ravenous infected cannibals and torment the campers in an entirely different way. Not particularly gory (more puke m and bile than blood and guts) but definitely gross and enjoyable. Kinda like a Troma movie made serous. The ending was the only real downer. That was disappointing.

Good thing they went with Dream Stalker. It’s a little paint by numbers, but at least you know you’re getting a horror movie. Kinetic Nightmare sounds like a documentary about energy waste.
