After finishing The Freakshow I would have to hope there will never be a serial killer with quite as depraved an imagination as Bryan Smith.
And how can you not love a book where the only defense against a monster invading your mind is being high as a kite on weed.

Joe Bob showed Audition for his first movie tonight,Never cared for it. And the second film is Class of 1984. This is really good. I've seen pieces of it before but never all of it.

Hatchet 3* *DVD* This was on par, if not better than the second movie. It was pretty funny but only because the kills were so over the top. My only complaint was how useless Danielle Harris’ character was. Despite being the star character of the franchise she could have been cut entirely from the movie and it wouldn’t have changed a thing.

I won’t count them as a movie but I watched a few of Jim Van Bebbers short films that were included with Deadbeat At Dawn.
My Sweet Satan was awesome and should have been a full-length movie. Roadkill: The Last Days of John Martin had some great gore and probably could have been a full-length too. Doper was a documentary about some guy who’s high 24/7. That’s really it. It was kinda funny.

If I didn’t have so much stuff to watch already I’d be tempted to get that. It’s going for $25-$30. Maybe less if you hunt for it. Better than the Manson Family 2-Disc set, which I saw going for nearly $40! I lucked out and got mine for about $6 as part of a lot. It’s the single disc Manson Family though so no bells and whistles. As it is I’m waiting on that 6 Movie Guinea Pig set, which I’m pretty sure I got from the same place you got. I don’t know how long it will take to get here though since the seller seems to take a while getting packages out. I bought Blood Beach (1980) the same day and that’s already been here for a day.

If it’s a bootleg it’s a well put together bootleg I got both off eBay

I guess we can add Deadbeat at Dawn DVDs underneath maple syrup for things Canada is known for.

Watching Blood & Flesh, the documentary about Al Adamson. The news footage at the beginning is narrated by none other than Sean Mooney. I'm 99.99% certain it's Sean. Great documentary. Makes me want to give Al's movies a second chance. So I just finished watching BLOOD & FLESH. Really great doc, made Al's films look like an absolute blast (I knew of some of his titles by reputation, but the only thing I'd seen was CARNIVAL MAGIC, and that was only because MST3K riffed it a couple years ago). I really admire that DIY ethic and the ingenuity of shooting new scenes to exploit what's hot in cinema. Some folks think it's tacky and cheap and kind of a ripoff (and I won't argue and say it's not), but hearing these people describe the re-releases of Adamson's flicks with new titles and ad campaigns just put a big smile on my face.

The Nest. 1987.
I am so glad we do not have cockroaches in this country. I have seen only two in my time and that was enough. If you feel remotely similar this may not be for you. Especially the parts where they were mixed with food on screen.
Monsters invade an island and the mayor has big business plans, sounds familiar right, except this time he is in on it.
Truly a disgusting film with some gross out moments to put it mildly. It all could have been sourrounded by a better movie, but as shear spectacle the film is awesome.
The human villain is a real bitch in the Alexis Colby way and the highlight of the film for me, truly deserving of her ultimate fate. The heroes are bland but the smaller characters make up for it.
3 "just run, asshole, run," out of 5.

I’ve been putting off writing about this one. The Manson Family (1997) I just don’t know how to accurately heap praise on this one that hasn’t been said already. The poster said it won Best Feature at the New York Underground Film Festival. Should’ve been at the Academy Awards. It’s a travesty that Jim Van Bebber had to scrap together the money to make this. Aside from some festival showings it mostly sat unwatched from 1997 to 2003. Then in 2003 all the post production work was finally completed and Dark Sky Films put it out on DVD. According to the IMDB trivia section Bebber even sold his blood at one point to get the film made. Meanwhile in 2003 From Justin to Kelly was produced for $12 million. Anyway, the film is kind of a mockumentary about Charles Manson and his followers. I appreciate that Manson’s most infamous act, the death of Sharon Tate isn’t the focal point of the film and a ton of other weird stuff gets covered. It’s all based on fact but some recreations are based on how Manson Family members remembered the events or perceived them as happening. So don’t use it to source a history report. Also, the framing device that alludes to the greater violence in society and how Manson may have effected it, is completedly fictitious as far as I know. It’s an easy watch and in part simulates the effects of being on acid. If you like things like Something Weird Video’s catalog or just horror on a budget, you should get a kick out of this.

Here’s a weird question:
Can Clash of the Titans (1981) count as a horror movie?
My gut reaction is absolutely not. However, I keep seeing it get brought up in discussion on a horror forum I’m on. That forum really values monsters in movies though. Clash of the Titans certainly has some great monsters, but to me that’s just not horror.
I have most of the day off tomorrow and if I can wrap up enough errands I’d love to squeeze in as many horror movies as I can. I was thinking I’d have four in the chamber since there is almost no chance I can get through four movies and I’d rather have more lined up than not enough.
Right now I’m thinking Pumpkinhead, Waxwork, Waxwork II, and...maybe Clash of the Titans? I don’t know though. I’d love to stick with 1980s/1990s stuff, but would prefer to just stick with horror too. Maybe I’ll rewatch Night Train to Terror, which I’ve been meaning to do anyway.

Blood Harvest* *Tubi* What do you find more terrifying: Clowns or Tiny Tim? How about Tiny Tim as a clown??And what if I told you there was something even more terrifying? That being the dialogue in Blood Harvest??I watch a lot of bad movies but it takes something special for me to put my face in my palms and shake my head. The writing was just...wow. Wow after wow after wow. I think this may have been the horror movie the Simpsons always lampooned in the early days. It’s not all bad though (and what was bad was so bad it was good). Lead Itonia Salchek had no problem being topless for a good portion of the movie and that never got old. It was the only role she ever had and no one knows what happened to her after this. The violence was comically terrible. Nothing more than a few slashed throats. And as for Tiny Tim; he was f***ing brilliant. I don’t know if he was even really acting. I think he just showed up on set and was himself; just in some clown get-up. And yes, he sang.

I got quite the horror haul today. Delivered at my doorstep this morning was the Guinea Pig Complete Film Collection, the Ilsa She Wolf of the SS Quadrilogy, and 30 copies of Nekromantik 2.
So yeah aside from the fact that the FBI is now definitely monitoring my mail, no regrets.
Fun fact: Nekromantik is banned from being listed on eBay. Whereas on Amazon it’s a best seller.

The Nekromantik one is the only one I didn’t get off of eBay and was officially licensed by Cult Epics. Oddly enough it’s the only one eBay won’t let people sell. Although I think the Ilsa set got yanked as when I tried to leave feedback it said the item didn’t exist. Silly eBay. Of course it exist. It’s sitting on my nightstand.
