I prefer Krispy Kreme (Not just because I'm less than 25 miles from th First one and headquarters either)
Dunkin Donuts are too cake-y for my tastes, far too dense. I prefer the airy lightness of Krispy Kreme.

Dunkin' and it's not even close. USELESS FACT: The first Dunkin' Donuts location was (and still is operational) in Quincy, Massachusetts. Which also happens to be this Moderator's hometown. Me too! In fact, I live 3 blocks away

I don't know of a single dunkin donuts in southern California so I guess Krispy kreme wins by default. But if I want a REALLY good donut, I go to one of the local, independent stores like Don's Donuts or Circus Donuts or even Randy's (the one with the giant donut in the roof).

Krispy Kreme.
Granted, we have neither around here anymore but when we did...man...those were the days.

Tim Horton's easily. Not even close. And I've had donuts at American Tim Horton's, too.

Tim Horton's easily. Not even close. And I've had donuts at American Tim Horton's, too. Yeah, despite being a mostly Canadian chain they do have locations in America and in fact took over a lot of the Dunkin Donuts in New York City, including both locations in Penn Station. There are still a metric ton of Dunkin Donuts in the City and Long Island but still...

I love doughnuts. Doesn't matter what kind. I will eat them at any time, morning, noon, and night. That being said, I think Dunkin has shrunk their doughnuts, and made them annoyingly consistent in size and shape. There's just no surprise anymore. I love Krispy Kreme. The "hot donuts now" sign on their stores is recognized as a stop sign in my car. You just can't beat one of their warm glazed right off the line. So between the two, I go Krispy. All time, there's a local bakery in Cincinnati called Busken that makes the kind of doughnuts that are so good, they take years off your life.

Dunkin' Donuts. I grew up with them and a place called Long's Bakery, and still love them.

Although both exist here, I gotta say Krispy Kreme. I remember when I was kid when they first opened the Krispy Kreme in town. I will never forget what that first hot and fresh glazed donut tasted like.

What's up with Krispy Kreme donuts? They're tasty, but it's like they're made of plastic or something, nothing like what you get from anywhere else.
