I saw a clip of a Thunder match recently and here we had Marc Mero, with his full hair grown back, in the crowd.
I remember Sable did the exact same thing in 1999.
Were the two of them finally ready to jump to WCW in 2000, or was this just another "hey look... (x) is in the crowd... what's he/she doing here?".

I think it was a case of Mero working out a deal with them that never materialized so that brief cameo was all that came of it.

I remember him having an encounter with Tank Abbott at one point. They wanted to hint at a UFC guy vs. legit boxer angle, but it never went anywhere.

I think WCW tried to sign Rena, but WWE put a stop to it somehow. And without her, they had no interest in Marc.

Nice to see he grew his hair back out.
That haircut in WWE didn't help.
They should've just gone with the Johnny B. Badd gimmick again.

I remember that episode & haven't seen it since it aired. Awesome stuff. Especially Sting covered in blood at the end.

That whole episode was a clusterbomb. It was the same episode where David Arquette won the WCW World Title, Paisley fought Tammy in one of her last appearances, and that whole episode was just so damn weird.

I don't think Mero would of been a good signing since they seemed to be going for a Tank/Mero match which would of sucked.
Sable would of been awesome to have since she was wrestling's hottest diva at the time.

Wow, I had no idea he was in WCW in 2000... not that I was watching enough to notice, anyway, but I've never even read or heard anyone talk about it.

I loved that clip, and pretty much every clip from WCW 2000. It's all so WTF-worthy.

A little off-topic, but I remember some Newz in 1999 that Mero was returning to the WWF to compete in the Hardcore division.
