Sams college roommate in transformers 2 to quote Rifftrax "We already have one Shia Labouf." Most of the characters in the transformers films serve no purpose. The computer guys in the first, most of the robots in the second and third, plus lets not forget sam's parents - so many things could have been cut without affecting the plot whatsoever.

The roommate was intended to be Jonah Hill, but he turned down the role.

I never understood why people had such a hard time figuring out why she was important. She read peoples minds. It's pretty useful to have someone who can read your opponent's minds in a battle since you can literally predict their moves. It didn't always come across like that though and her telepathy was generally limited to saying that the people firing photon torpedos at them were somewhat hostile. Also, Castle from Castle. The main character and yet his entire role is completely pointless.

Maybe because I barely remember anything about the show, but what exactly did Johnny Quest do on...Johnny Quest?

Thinking of the characters on Seinfeld... Since Uncle Leo was enough on his own as a relative of Jerry, Jerry's parents could have been left out given that, I don't remember them all that much.

Once they stopped doing the "dies every episode" angle and gave Butters a bigger role, Kenny seemed kind of pointless.

I don't think he even counts as comic relief.

Most she did was tell them that the minds Romulan Warbird were hostile and aggressive.

Eva Longoria's character in "The Sentinel." Also, Brendan in "Step By Step." Did they even write him off the show in the last season? He wasn't there at all.

T-Dog from the Walking dead Hale from Lost Girl is very close to being the token black guy too but about three scenes over two seasons saves him.

What did Hadji do because I don't remember him and Johny doing much except getting into shenanigans. To me the mom in the sixth sense didn't really have a purpose she was just there

I know this is going to be controversial, since I love "Breaking Bad," but I kinda find Walt Jr. kinda useless. His disability has never really played into the show, he disappears for episodes at a time, and he seems to appear only to do the occasional "pouty/bratty/argumentative" teenager scene that always just seem like filler. They need to do something about this fast.
Am I the only one that finds Scott Campbell's "Boris" character on "Royal Pains" to be useless? Although they do seem to be doing more with him this year, but he would also disappear for episodes at a time.

Let's not forget the king of pointless characters in Transformers movies - Sam's boss from Transformers 3. The thing is they gave John Malkovich such a big introduction and personality that it seemed like they were setting him up to be a big part of the movie. Then he does nothing other then pick a play fight with Bumblebee and disappears 1/3 way through.

The Cook guy in 'Mass Effect 2' ... You get him the food he needs (if you choose to do so), and he never leaves that kitchen area for the whole game.... well except when the Collectors raided the Normandy.
I even bought him some meat from Tutuchunka, and didn't even thank me for it. Ungrateful useless bastard.
