My best friend loves Westlife. I embrace his love for it. It's what real friends do.

The only valid reason for non-friendship is a genuine dislike for one another.
Anything else is some high school bulls***.
If you matter to me, you matter to me regardless of circumstance. If I have another friend that doesn't like you, that just means I have to endeavor to minimize your dealings with each other.
I'm f***ing 29. I'm not playing both sides against the middle. If you're willing to put up with my bulls***, you're cool enough for me.

Sounds like a tongue-in-cheek comment that you took too seriously. OkCupid is full of snark like that.

Some friends of mine just decided to end our friendship back in February. They thought I dissed their brother, who was one of my best friends for about the last 6 years, horribly. Funny thing is, I have no clue what I said that was so horrible to them.
I haven't talked to them since then.

Depends what you call friendship.
I call my friends people who I can generally tell everything and have one of those special connections with. In many ways I think friendships should be defined by 'could you have a relationship with the person's personality and not go insane from it?' without any physical lust stuff, naturally.
I call everyone else an acquaintance, which is not a bad thing. People who think everyone must be a friend/lover on the same level as everyone else are either walking a tense line or don't regard quality in friendships as something important.
That being said I've lost friends/had people cut/have cut friendships for ludicrous reasons. Misunderstandings that have boiled over for months with no one really wanting to clear up confusion (Chinese whispers stuff) that have led to me/them just going "bugger this, if this is the stress of being friends with this person it's not worth it" instead of dealing with issues at an earlier date.
Of course there've been sillier/more insane things but since the age of 19 it's all been a lot more simple. Teenage years are bastards for losing friends over stupid junk that may or may not have happened (credit to Rajah.com) y'know.

Eh, the reasons might seem stupid, but if that person doesn't wanna be friends, then they don't wanna be friends.
