I think I'm going to make UFC 159 the first MMA show that I go to. Hmm...

Matt Brown to face Dan Hardy By Brett Okamoto | ESPN.com
A welterweight contest between Dan Hardy and Matt Brown has been targeted for a UFC on Fox event on April 20 in San Jose, Calif.
Sources have confirmed the planned matchup to ESPN.com. A lightweight title fight between Ben Henderson and Gilbert Melendez is expected to headline the card while Frank Mir and Daniel Cormier are scheduled to tangle in a heavyweight encounter.
Hardy (25-10) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Amir Sadollah in September. The Brit is riding a two-fight win streak, a nice rebound from a previous four-fight skid. Now based in Las Vegas, Hardy is 6-4 overall in the promotion, which includes a 2010 title fight against Georges St. Pierre that he lost via decision.
Brown (16-11) has also revitalized his career as of late, winning four in a row. A former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter reality series, Brown dropped four of five from 2010 to 2011 before starting his current streak. He most recently scored a second-round knockout win over Mike Swick in December.

So, what's the deal with Bellator this Thursday on Spike? What should I record as I see a regular one and ones with "360" labeled.

Bellator 360 is a "Best of" show that they've been running the past few weeks. This Thursday is the first live show of the season. It runs from 10-midnight EST but know that it's possible the show goes long as there are two title fights. Should be a good show.

Ben Henderson vs Gilbert Meléndez and Daniel Cormier vs Frank Mir are targeted for UFC on FOX 7. I was leery on how the FOX events would be treated by the UFC. I think it's safe to say that they're not shortchanging some promising free fights. And this is exactly how to do it. Lower weight card guys are not ready to main event PPVs. Get them some mainstream exposure and hope that people like their body of work enough to buy their PPVs when the time comes.

Ariel Helwani announced a partial list of Strikeforce fighters confirmed for the UFC on UFC Tonight.
Gegard Mousasi (who I'm most looking forward to), Tarec Saffiedine, Gian Villante, Luke Rockhold, Jacare Souza, Tim Kennedy, Roger Gracie, Lorenz Larkin, Nate "will never fight in the UFC again!" Marquardt, Roger Bowling, Jason High, Bobby Voelker, Josh Thomson, K.J. Noons, Pat Healy, Adriano Martins, Kurt Holobaugh, and Ryan Couture are all headed to the UFC.
There's some potential for some awesome fights coming up.

Way to many thinned out shows last year due to injuries and such. Plus, we got Bellator on Spike so there's still legit competition. Especially when you consider Spike's involvement. As for Barnett, maybe he pulls a King Mo and goes to Bellator to do some work with TNA.

Didn't catch that story about Barnett. Wow. Dude got a quarter million for his fight last Saturday and the gate was over 130k. No wonder Strikeforce went out of business. That's absurd! If he thinks he's gonna get another offer like that, he's insane.
All that said, I'm not a big fan of Bjorn right now with this whole Eddie Alvarez situation. The guy's got an AMAZING offer from the UFC and now this whole situation is going through the legal process which will take months to figure out. Not to mention this guy's 29 years old. The prime of his career.

Also Barnett wouldn't have an endless supply of first time MMA kickboxers to tap out.

I'm really looking forward to see how both Daniel Cormier and Gegard Mousasi fare in the UFC.
And speaking of Mousasi was the referee who was officiating over his fight against Mike Kyle asleep or something. Kyle must of tapped at least 5 or 6 times before he noticed.

Poor Gustafsson, Dana must really hate the guy. No title shot until he goes through anyone and everyone.
