Yeah, I'm posting this after being annoying by something on another forum, Simply, what are your least favourite types of wrestling fans?
I cannot stand those smarks that trash pretty much everything in wrestling and claim they'll "stop watching" all the time.
Then there's those TNA fans who'll defend every single little thing. I think you'll know about this if you post in the TNA section...

Less fans of a specific group, and more generally, fans who can't handle ANY criticism of "their" product, and write down any negative feedback, no matter how innocuously it's phrased as "whining" and "hating'.

IMO these anti-indy guys are quickly becoming the more obnoxious ones.

People that don't even bother to watch Smackdown, but say that they're the hugest of huge wrestling fans. And beyond what the main eventers on Raw, they have no clue.
Also, any generation that says "My nostalgia makes me right about wrestling. And wrestling that isn't from the time I like the most sucks."

If this was about one paticular fan, i cannot stand "Hat guy" he always just yells at any wrestler face or heel who goes near the barricade during the match. Dude must have a really crappy job or a bitchy wife because he lets all out on the wreslters heel or face.

The people who are such big fans of one particular wrestler that everything everything EVERYTHING they do is gold and will not shut up about it. Everything in the wrestling world revolves around this one wrestler and if they, god forbid, lose a match then the bookers are killing their heat and oh no lord help us all.
(Examples: CM Punk, Kevin Steen)

One type of fan, regardless of their favorite wrestlers, organizations, time periods, their disavowal or appropriation of 'smarkdom', their level of wrestling knowledge or experience, their level of participation in any wrestling product:
The fan that tells other fans how to be a fan correctly.

Once in awhile at lower level indy shows you'll get people who just walked in because tickets were so cheap and the venue sells beer. This includes
* people who yell things about it being fake, or to less of an extreme things like KISS HIM and STOP DANCING
* people who act very inappropriately, if the show is intended to be more family friendly. I've seen dildos thrown in the ring at shows marketed as such
Also particularly bad are
*Fan sitting behind you who thinks you are his new best friend and wants to talk to you through the ENTIRE SHOW. JUST SHUT UP, I DON'T EVEN LIKE YOU!
* For shows featuring ICP - non-wresting-fan Juggalos. Honestly this can be hit or miss, because sometimes they really bring the energy, but other times they can be incredibly obnoxious. Sane ICP fans who are also wrestling fans are some of the best guys to have pad out a crowd - it will NOT be a silent, show killing crowd, even if they are on par with backyard wrestlers.
* People who get in the ring or jump the barrier. Doing this shows such a level of disrespect I can barely believe it.

The fan that tells other fans how to be a fan correctly. This one is spot on. I was at a small indy show one time, and there was some guy who seemed like a knowledgable fan but was cheering faces, booing heels, just having a good time, etc. He told some guy next to him not to boo at one of the heels. The guy said, "Why not? That guys sucks." And he said, "Because he's not good enough to generate a heel reaction." It was funny. In all reality though, as long as you don't do anything to stop others from having a good time, I don't have a problem with you.

It's a hard subject. But i believe that the fans do owe it to the wrestlers and even themselves to play along with the show. Guys like Punk, Danielson, Steen and Portia try so hard to generate heat from the crowd, and if they still are getting worship for everything they say or do, it lets down the other fans and the wrestlers themselves.
Ive seen fans get verbally assualted by these guys and they just stand there and smile like a jackass. If you respect the guy and like him then you should play along when he is working so hard to get heat. If you want to worship the guys do it at home or on your computer, but at a show you just look like an idiot cheering for a guy who just insulted your town, your sports team or even your fat ugly girlfriend.
But then again, there is the arguement that you have paid for your ticket and have a right to "free spech". Just keep in mind that these guys you respect would rather you pretend to hate them for the night then make there jobs harder.

People who chant things that aren't related to the show or match. For example, a bunch of guys who chanted "CHEESECAKE!" all the way through SHIMMER Volumes 43 and 44.

"Ring work means nothing to me" fans.
I get that stories and characters are important, but that stuff is supposed to show in the ring too, more so than backstage. If the guy or gal can't convey those factors in the ring, they might as well be an actor.

If the guy or gal can't convey those factors in the ring, they might as well be an actor. Yeah but on the flipside of that, there's very little criticism for guys who can have a five-star match in the ring, but still not have anyone give a damn about their character, their storylines or their matches. Wrestling IS acting and getting the crowd emotionally involved and being able to carry them with you. If you put on a match that'd be identical to the one you'd do behind closed doors - you're not very good. ...my own personal dislike is the wrestling fans who lap up really dull, repetitive, child-like humour, even though the same skit has run for the last 30 weeks with the same joke each time. 'COMEDY GOLD!!!!!' etc.

You can't get a five star without people caring about the match or the wrestlers involved. I honestly think the backstage stuff is overrated in American wrestling. I don't mean promos in general necessarily, but backstage stuff. Storylines that go beyond what goes on in the ring. I agree on the second part for the most part.

Silent fans, I really don't understand the point of attending if you're not going to bother getting into the show. (Of course it's different if the company does something to suck the life out of a crowd)
Parents that make no effort to control their kids, although that's more of a general pet peeve.

Anyone who partakes in the chants, "You Can't Wrestle!" or "You F****** Up!" The latter makes me cringe.
UGH.
