ROH officials have finalized a handful of matches for this weekend’s television tapings going down in Louisville, KY at The Davis Arena on Saturday night!
First up, the ROH World Tag Team Champions Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin, will step into the ring with the recently formed duo of Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander. Caprice & Cedric united for the first time at “Tag Team Turmoil 2011” in the Tag Lottery and, despite their loss to Future Shock, impressed ROH officials and fans alike. Displaying a strong chemistry despite their inexperience as a team, they virtually guaranteed themselves future bookings with ROH and the first of those goes down on broadcast TV against the toughest competition they could possibly face. Haas & Benjamin are eager to put this duo to the test on Saturday night and it will be interesting to see how Coleman & Alexander fare against the champs.
Next up, in a bit of a rematch from “Death Before Dishonor IX”, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) will battle against Lancelot & Harlem, The Bravado Brothers. The siblings from NC were responsible for ruining the Bucks bout against Future Shock at “Best in the World 2011”, and although a measure of revenge was gained at “DBD IX” a couple weeks back, the Bravados saw things differently.
“That was an unfair advantage.” said Lancelot, “Ring of Honor certainly did us wrong by putting us in a situation where we had to fight four guys. Don’t get me wrong, my brother and I are used to overcoming the odds, but what ROH did to us was just plain wrong. I’d wager that if you did things the right way, and let The Bucks handle their own problems for once in their lives, you’d have a different outcome.”
Well in Louisville, The Bravados will get their wish. It will be The Young Bucks vs. The Bravados as part of these Ring of Honor Wrestling on SBG TV Tapings!
And last, certainly not least, the ROH World TV Champion Jay Lethal will square off with a man who has spent the majority of 2011 looking to strap a title around his waist: “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett! In his return to the company at “BITW ‘11”, Lethal bested Bennett and to add insult to injury (at least in Bennett’s mind) Lethal was chosen to challenge El Generico for the TV Title at the 1st ROH on SBG TV tapings. That proved to be an opportunity that Lethal made the most of as he captured the belt from “The Generic Luchador” to become the 4th TV Champion.
“This is supposed to be my year.” Stated Bennett, “2011 was always meant to be the year of The Prodigy, and honestly, looking back over the last 10 months, I think it’s safe to say the ROH itself prevented that from happening. You kept pushing Steve Corino on me no matter how many times I owned him. You distracted me from my championship goals, and then when the time came for a title opportunity…one that should have been mine…you just gave it to Jay Lethal? Come on. I suppose I will just have to demonstrate to ROH officials, to the ROH Universe, and to Lethal himself how big of a mistake has been made in the last few months! 2011 isn’t over yet, but damn it Jay, your title run will be if I have anything to say about it.”
ROH World TV Champion Jay Lethal vs. “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett will go down on October 1st at The Davis Arena in addition to WGTT vs. Coleman & Alexander and The Young Bucks vs. The Bravados. Tickets are available here, so get yours fast and don’t miss out on the next SBG TV tapings!
Lots of tag matches...3 of the 4 matches announced so far, in fact.
Wonder if that means the Briscoes and ANX will be in singles matches.
