It's a small indy women's wrestling promotion that makes aprox. 3 shows a year, can only sit 100 and some people on their venue and survives on DVD sales making (probably) little to no profit. I think that "hiring a graphic design major who can make kick ass posters" is not on their investment priorities. But surely there is some graphic design major out there who is willing to work pro bono because they love wrestling so much and wants to see not only Shimmer but several wrestling promotions succeed. Or am I being too idealistic? Youre not. Theres a huge group of guys over on another board I frequent that makes signatures by request (its a sports board, and most requests are for certain players, teams, etc). Point is, I'm fairly certain that all of them could make better wrestling posters/dvd covers than every promotion out there, except perhaps the WWE. And theyd all do it for free.

maybe I'll have to check out a Shimmer show. I am only about 3 hours from Chicago. do they tend to stay in that area? They're always in Berwyn (apart from one time in 2007 when they did a show in Florida), but they only run two weekends a year. It is an action packed weekend, though, and this'll be my first time next weekend. My first as well. Did you have a hard time booking a room near the event? Cause I spent all day calling around and researching, and only could reserve a room at the Write Inn (which I'll need to take a cab to event from/to).

SHIMMER won't be the only event I'm seeing next week... Very stacked lineup of talent - Michael Elgin, Truth Martini and Gregory Iron will be there too.

Ok, I'm asking. Who the hell designs these wrestling posters? As a graphic design major (and super art snob) I'm offended that I'm busting my hump trying to come up with good design and stuff like this gets printed. Sheesh... It's a small indy women's wrestling promotion that makes aprox. 3 shows a year, can only sit 100 and some people on their venue and survives on DVD sales making (probably) little to no profit. I think that "hiring a graphic design major who can make kick ass posters" is not on their investment priorities. Actually, they make 8 shows a year.

No wonder they lost, you never mock the Ninjas. NEVER. Of course, the Ninjas honoured Shawn and Diesel first, but it was free.
