Watching the new Stone Cold DVD I was surprised to learn that Austin considered Nash a close friend. I think they were always in different places when they were popular (Austin WWE atititude era and Nash NWO WCW era). Made me think who else would it be surprising to learn are close freinds.

what about when they weren't popular. Stunning Steve & Oz/Vinnie Vegas 1990-1993. Also Regal and HHH became close friends from there brief time they were both in WCW 1994.

Austin has a bit about that in his book, it was from when he was in WCW. He would travel with Brian Pillman & Raven, but they had a little group of guys they called the "Comedy League". Kevin Nash, Tex Slazenger & Shanghai Pierce (the future Godwinns; Pierce was official secretary of the League), Barry Windham, Dan Spivey and Mick Foley were all a part of it. ("Dan Spivey was the darkhorse, real dry sense of humor.") Steve said one day they were looking for a place to park at Joe Louis Arena and asked Nash, who was walking to the building. Nash blew them off, so they voted to strip him of "the title". "Big Grouchy was having a bad day."

Joe and Cena were trained together, so that doesn't surprise me.

Supposedly Owen Hart and Ultimate Warrior were friends. That's always been surprising to me.

Edge and Bret Hart. Two guys that never worked in the same company together. I guess it's a Canadian thing or something.

Despite his problems with Shawn Michaels, I'm surprised Bret Hart was good friends with Hall and Nash.

Kane-Edge is a bit of a strange one- Edge was in some of Kane's family photos that leaked over autumn while he was growing his hair out!
Wasn't Ken Kennedy's best man Matt Hardy?
Taker, Papa Shango, Mideon, Rikishi & Yokozuna all went by the nickname BSK (Brotherhood of Solitary Knights/Bone Street Krew / Back Stage Krew depending who you listen to!)
Fairly obvious but CM Punk, Colt Cabana, Zack Ryder, Daniel Bryan, Cliff Compton and Luke Gallows all seem legitimitely tight.
Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Brian Hildebrand :-(

Funaki and HBK/Austin. Just completely random. Not really. Funaki lives in San Antonio. Austin actually recommended that he move here (Austin used to live here and I think still has a house here).

Edge and Bret Hart. Two guys that never worked in the same company together. I guess it's a Canadian thing or something. Bret saw Edge wrestle early in his career and suggested the WWF pick up and he was given a developmental contract. In Bret's book, when he mentioned some wrestlers he'd miss after Survivor Series, Papa Shango was one of the guys.

Especially since Mercury was known for having a drug problem during the MNM days. I can only imagine that's got something to do with their friendship.

Dude, you've read the book, I think you can understand why Bret would miss the Godfather Just wanted to say about Owen/Warrior, I can see them both appreciating that wrestling was a business, and wanting lives outside of it, whereas very few guys seemed to have that way of thinking. Plus no one could not like Owen.
