Since NHL 13 is pretty much all we'll have for a while - anyone got it yet? Is it much better/different than last year?
The "realistic" skating interests me but I don't know if it's worth the 60$ price tag just for that.

We need to send stuff to the NHL and NHLPA offices. Like half a puck to each side.

Thank god I have the USHL. It's not the pros, but it's something close for me to enjoy. Go Stampede!!!

Percentage-wise, how much do you blame the players?

Percentage-wise, how much do you blame the players? I might be alone in this but I think they have a good part of it not a majority but their fair share. Seems like they are stalling. I don't know if they think that it would be bad biz to miss any games so they are trying to push it closer to that date. Or maybe threaten the Winter Classic. IDK but everyone is an asshole here.

You know I just thought of this but how f***ed are the teams like Florida, Phoenix, Dallas etc that are struggling for cash if this lookout lasts as long as lets say the Winter Classic? Thats a helluva lot of lost revenue that they can't get back.

Well the good news is I changed my digital cable provider during the WHL playoffs so now I'll get all Edmonton Oil Kings games on my TV. They finished great last year making it to the memorial cup and Lazar is expected to be in the top 10 in the NHL draft next year. I should get season tickets before they announce the lockout or otherwise the ticket prices will be jacked up or sold out. Also they need to patch up NHL 13 and I hate the new short loading times when the whistle is blown. I want to keep hitting people after the play and maybe start a fight.

We just went thru this in 04 and it put hockey back ten yrs. Because of the last lockout we now have to search out hockey on tv. No NBC, no ESPN. Forget seeing your team out of market. The revenue is just not there. The players want to be paid Luke basketball allstars but don't fill arenas or sell jersey like bball does. An owner is an investor and has to base his investment off of profit margin. If there is less revenue to share, he will keep more and pay players less. Players BTW, get half the yr off are flown free, have a per dium rate when they travel so they aren't paying out of pocket and then there is the fact that they get paid hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars to play a game. I am on the owners side. Players take on the physical risk and deserve compensation but but without the investment by the owners, players would make $30000 a yr in Tulsa or $14000 Canadian in Moosejaw and would be taking the bus to work. As far as NHL 13, is the box empty?

I mean, the KHL is one of the biggest leagues in the world, and if they already got Canada's three developmental leagues, why not throw in the United States's top league to round out North America.

Adding the KHL would be great. I guess they won't due to various legal reasons and the fact that the NHL would probably be ticked off about it.
Anyone here ever actually allow yourself to be drafted? I never do. I always pick the Habs (which I am sure is a big surprise to everyone). Anyone get drafted and was sick at who drafted you so you did a do-over?

I still play NHL 11 from time to time and got drafted by Chicago. My junior team was the Portland Winter Hawks. So I went from the Winter Hawks to the Blackhawks. It's not that I hate Chicago, it's just that I'm annoyed that my character's going to be wearing the Blackhawks style uniform for 4 years.

The Kings did the same thing today as well. Most of the dudes who were sent down were in the AHL with the Monarchs anyways. The two big names are Jordan Nolan and Andrei Loktionov getting sent back down. Our top two draft picks (Pearson and Prokhorkin) will also be on the Monarchs roster.
