I watched notre dame since u was eight and blew a gasket last time they did this (only two yrs IIRC). This time it dosn't bother me. I love ND but my heart has always been in college station(almost went there before I was swindled by an AF recruiter).

I'll have to ask my Brother-in-law about this, as he graduated and is a big fan of Michigan.

So is this not a rivalry that people look forward to every year? I thought it was kind of like Alabama vs Auburn. We hate Auburn, but look forward to the game. It's a nice rivalry between two of the oldest and most-winning programs, but as far as ND's rivalries I would rank it fifth or sixth, about even with Stanford, and behind USC, Navy, MSU, and Purdue. I do look forward to it each year, but if it's not on the schedule for a few years, it's not a huge deal. Now, if Michigan and Notre Dame had played continuously since 1887, it'd be a much different story.

According to Darren Rovell the most expensive college football tickets on the secondary market: 1. Ohio State 2. Nebraska 3. Iowa 4. Notre Dame 5. LSU Okay, 4 out of the 5 on that list, I can believe. But really? IOWA? Is a Nebraska Fan seriously wondering why Iowa Tickets are expensive? IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME FREAKING SITUATION AS YOURS! The size of the stadium also matters, it's hard to get tickets that don't suck. I'm an Iowa State fan, so I don't care. I'm just shocked that a Nebraska Fan of all people doesn't understand why people in Iowa care about their football team.

I understand what Lupin's saying to a point- the other 4 teams have won a national title in the last 25 years.

As an Iowa fan I can say that makes perfect sense. Iowa may not have won a national title in 52 years (If A&M and Bama can claim questionable championships then then I say Iowa won in '21, '22, ' '56, and '60) but this is a fanbase that has only one real source of football goodness and thats the Hawks.
It isn't called the Hawkeye State for nothing.

So I don't really agree with your argument using those points. But I can definitely see the price being so high because of the loyalty of the fan base. Iowa has a great fan base.

Still love playing Michigan though.

You don't have to agree with the points in order for them to still be true. Plus, it doesn't help that the Iowa Press seriously treats the Hawkeyes like they are expected to win the Big 10 every damn year Actually, that's probably the big reason I should have listed first. In life you gotta know who you are. I'm an Iowa State Fan, do I think we'll win the Big 12 every year? Hell no, I don't think we'll EVER win it. But damn it, if we do, I'll be there eating crow and drinking brews. I just want to win 1 big game every year and get to a bowl every 3-4 years. I'm going out on a limb to say that KU and ISU fans are pretty similar... also the fact that we both hate Kansas State probably helps ;D

I was just shocked that Iowa tickets would be super spendy on the secondary market. I would've thought maybe Florida St., Penn St., USC, UCLA, hell, even Alabama.
Iowa just seems.......random.
And I've got nothing against Iowa. I'm probably one of the few Nebraska fans that wonder why we're supposed to hate Iowa. I kinda like Iowa.

Dead on. The press started ignoring A&M after Franchione fell flat. Been enjoying all the press the last two yrs
