So it seems the Nationwide Series blew up tonight. Nelson Piquet Jr. and Brian Scott got into it on the track (again) several times and it ended with them pushing and shoving each other on pit road and Piquet kicking Scott in the nuts. Then after all that some crew from both teams took it outside the track and were either detained or arrested by local police (conflicting reports with Speed saying the local PD are just investigating but others on Twitter saying were saying people were cuffed and put in the squad cars at the last). In an update, 2 RCR crew members were arrested for assault following the NNS race last night. nascar.speedtv.com/article/cup-report-two-rcr-employees-in-custody-after-nationwide-series-fight

Nelson Piquet Jr. and Brian Scott were placed on probation until June 26th.
Yesterday and today marks the 19th anniversary of the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna at Imola.
Pippa Mann will drive a 3rd car for Dale Coyne Racing to attempt to qualify for the Indy 500, becoming the 31st announced driver for the race.

Townsend Bell will join Panther DRR for Indianapolis, and Buddy Rice will drive for Sam Schmidt, bringing the confirmed entries for the 500 to 33. Still rumors floating around about several drivers, namely Buddy Lazier, Jaques Lazier, Bryan Clauson, and Jay Howard. Would be nice to see all of them materialize after the lack of bumping last year.
Also, Kurt Busch is set to test an Indy car at Indianapolis before 500 practice begins.

An incredible finish that goes to prove that some Indycar fans just will continue to insist to find ways to un-enjoy something. Great finish? Let's bitch about blocking instead! Great race? Too bad, we'd rather pull off the airboxes and bumpers, muck with the aero that we know produces great races, and let them "innovate", because the car doesn't look exactly like a 1992 Lola or 1997 Reynard!

The Sprint Cup race at Talladega is currently under a rain delay at about 2/3'rds distance. Carl Edwards leads with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in second. Matt Kenseth has led 101 of the 125 laps, but is in 12th at the moment.
Sunset is for 8:30 ET, so now we wait on whether they get the track dry or if a cell loses the track yet again.

I'm surprised Talladega doesn't have lights on the track. I think it'd be an interesting track to have a night race at.

Per NASCAR's website, but they've allowed team members to take tarps off cars. Stuff may go down here boys! (Although I hope not.)
