I'm not too bothered by Shamrock's ankle lock. That's pretty much how he did it anyway. I would've liked to have Shamrock screaming while doing it but that's only a minor quibble. Disappointed with Attitude Era Kane and JBL though. Seriously, I get the feeling they've just recycled Current Kane's entrance for AE Kane (And don't be shocked if that's the case). They did exactly that. They gave Attitude Era Kane Kane's entrance from SvR 2011.

THQ....I try and defend you and you just drop the ball man. *sigh*
You guys can play me come October but maybe I just need to stay off this board for bit so I can stop shoving my foot in my mouth.

My thoughts:
Justin Gabriel's entrance is excellent. Shamrock's is pretty good too. Kane's doesn't wait for the pyro, but to me that's such a non issue, doesn't matter to me and can be easily fixed. Undertaker's looks weird with the hat but he most likely has other attires like he has had in the past games, they just chose a strange one to preview. They have time to update JBL's curvetron, there was some last year that didn't have it in the previews. Nice to see Nash's theme music accurate too.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to have a go, but just days ago it was revealed that there's a new I Quit match and the King of the Ring tournament is back, it looks awesome, but people are flipping out over a pyro going off too early?

Man, Attitude Era Kane's entrance is bad. I'm not usually too picky on these things but anyone who's ever actually seen an Attitude Era show knows that the intro goes before the pyro. It was fine for unmasked Kane, but come on THQ.

Not watched Kane's entrance yet, about to, but the fact that it isn't the 12 entrance is good enough for me. That thing is f***ing horrendous.
Edit: Just watched, and a pair of thoughts. One, does anyone else think Attitude Triple H looks like Uncle Fester? Two, Ken Shamrock's theme remind anyone else of the desert theme in Super Mario Bros. 3?

For a game that the company behind it are touting its accuracy to the product (and in the case of this year's game historical accuracy) it's a bit jarring.

I stopped making my own CAWs ages ago. I never really wanted my CAWs to be "real" guys anyway, but custom CAWs that were meant to be my on mini-fed sort of thing, and I'm sick of making them year after year after year, and it seems like they can't ever have the exact same moveset from year to year, or even close to the same look because I suck at working with sliders.
SvR 09 was the tipping point where I stopped making more than 3-5 of 'my' wrestlers, and started just playing as who was already in the game. I have my PS2 and Fire Pro Returns for NCW and watching CPU vs. CPU matches.
I'm on the fence about '13. I didn't play '12 as much as I thought I would, despite actually liking the roster overall, and I'm not even someone who's anal about getting entrance animations or gear perfect.

The worst part is that Mrs. SOB wouldn't let me pre-order because she heard all the complaining about WWE12 and wants me to rent it first to make sure I'll like it, which means I won't get it for a while unless I'm lucky enough to find a copy unrented the first week or two. And once she hears all the complaining about it from gaming sites, even though I'll still enjoy it and want it, she'll raise a stink about my paying that much for a game that "sucks".

Just because there are good parts of a game doesn't mean the bad ones get a free pass. So far, the "bad parts" are nitpicks at best. "WAAAH KANES ENTRANCE IS WRONG!" "WAAAH THE WRONG GUY ANNOUNCES DURING THE ATTITUDE ERA!" "GUY X GOT IN BUT GUY Y DIDN'T? f*** THIS COMPANY!" Have you considered that they might be "cutting corners" because they're busy fixing the insane amount of bugs that made the last few games borderline unplayable? That's where they should be focusing their energy, not pointless nostalgia. As long as I can play the f***ing game, I don't care who's in it.

So how many people who are complaining are actually NOT buying the game? I'm curious.

Ok, he's pleased with the game, so no one else is allowed to be anything other than pleased. You're all a bunch of babies because he says so. If you're pleased, great. No need to be a jerk because others aren't.

This is a game based in nostalgia. If they get that wrong, then they've failed on the basic premise. Also, they aren't pointless nitpicks. They are small things that add up to a greater experience. If I'm playing a period piece, and somebody has the wrong persona, entrance, attire, or moves, it's going to take you right out of the world they were trying to create. Also, if I have to spend time fixing whatever I can, that's going to lessen the gaming experience as well. I'm tired of having to do this company's dirty work for them. That's the real problem here. They pretty much force their customers to do the work they couldn't be arsed to do. It's wrong for any company to do that, especially one on the verge of going under.

So you're whining because you have to do a little work. Got it. Having to fix a moveset or an entrance is a minor inconvenience at best. What I can't fix, and what the developers should be fixing in the first place, is how half the time I get thrown out of the ring, I somehow phase right back in through the floor. Believe it or not, some people actually value gameplay in a game. It's right there in the word. Game. Gameplay. Funny how that works, isn't it?

The basic premise, to me anyway, is creating a game where it feels like an actual wrestling match, '12 was the closest they've been in a while. If they can do that then I'll buy, it's as simple as that.
I want to see an 'Epic' match in its entirety.

Just a few bug fixes would have been fine. But no, they had to change the game engine. Which nearly broke the game in WWE 12.

You have an issue with the work, or lack there of that went into the game, so you must be a whiny baby, or something.

Whining? Complaining? Complaining about the complaining? Passive aggressive comments? THQ is incompetant etc. etc.?
Looks like this thread is back in top form.

Believe it or not, some people actually value gameplay in a game. It's right there in the word. Game. Gameplay. Funny how that works, isn't it? Can you at least try to converse without the condescending attitude? It's not a good look. You know absolutely nothing about what I value in a game. Who are you to judge what I think is a "minor" inconvience? I'd rather be playing the game, but if I have to spend HOURS fixing what shouldn't have to be fixed in the first place, I won't have a chance to. I buy a game to play it, not work on it until it's as accurate as it was supposed to be when they were working on it. You know what I can't fix? Animations. I can't make Kofi's TIP better. I can't make the Mandible Claw or Vice Grip make people submit. I can't make Sin Cara's La Mistica NOT transition into a submission. I can't do any of that. They have to. If they don't, we're going to have to look at garbage every time the wrestler in question is in a match. How is that fair when they've known FOR YEARS that people have a problem with them? Bottom line, I'm having a realistic take on what they can actually fix. They've shown us by now that they have no idea how to fix some of the bugs in the game. They've proven that they have no idea how to fix the online. Any attempt to do so broke the game that much more. If they couldn't do it in the time frame WWE '12 was focused on, why should I think that they could fix it a mere few months later? They will NEVER get that aspect of the game right. Instead, I harp on aspects of the game they COULD get right, yet choose not to. Games will ALWAYS have bugs and other tech issues, regardless of what they do. What a game won't always have is inaccuracy in almost every aspect, from moves to entrances, music, arenas, animations, & ring announcing. They had the power to remedy that and they couldn't do it.
