FIRST, LAST & ONLY WARNING: ANYONE THAT FLAMES, BAITS, EGGS ON, OR BREAKS ANY OTHER RULES WILL BE WARNED AND GIVEN A WEEK LONG SUSPENSION (OR BANNING IF AT THAT POINT). WWE STATEMENT ON PUNK-FAN INCIDENT ON RAW by Mike Johnson @ 3:21 PM on 10/9/2012 WWE issued the following statement to TMZ.com regarding the incident with CM Punk in the audience at the close of last night's Raw: "WWE security was unfortunately not in the appropriate place at the time. Given CM Punk's persona as a 'bad guy' fans were naturally heckling him, but unfortunately a few fans began shoving him and one struck him in the kidney and on the back."
"WWE regrets that proper security measures were not in place, and CM Punk apologizes for reacting in the heat of the moment."
Local authorities took a statement from the fan that Punk nailed and noted that initially, he did not appear to have any injuries but later contacted them that he was dealing with pain in one of his knees. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

FAN WHO CAUSED PUNK INCIDENT REVEALS HIMSELF, BRAGS ON TWITTER by Mike Johnson @ 1:18 PM on 10/9/2012 The fan that caused the entire incident that led to CM Punk striking another fan last night actually bragged about it on Twitter. Dario Teyes, at his Twitter account, responded to someone noting they saw him on television and asking whether he saw the fan get punched:
"bro I'm the one that was f***ing with him lmao them he rocked an innocent fan. that guy is about to be a millionaire!!! I punched [Punk's] kidney and slapped his back hella hard. bro [Punk] straight pounced on a poor day white guy. I hit him ran away then ran back and stood next to him cause I saw the camera."
He was asked why no one pointed him out to security and wrote, "cause I dipped fast! Come on now poor fat guy is just hanging out putting his glasses on."
When Teyes was told he was going to get caught, he responded, "no one ever has and no one ever will."
Now that Teyes had outed himself as responsible, it should be interesting to see whether WWE or the local authorities pursue charges against him, especially since he publicly admitting assaulting Punk.
Note: I am leaving out the link to his Twitter account. No one else post it either please. Get it from a news site or where ever, just not from this board please. WWE Issued Statement:www.wwe.com/inside/wwe-punk-respond-for-october-8-incident-26058385In the closing moments of the Oct. 8 edition of Raw – during a verbal exchange with Mr. McMahon – an incident occurred between WWE Champion CM Punk and fans in the crowd. On Tuesday afternoon, WWE released the following official statement: “During Monday night’s Raw televised event, WWE Superstar CM Punk exited the ring and into the stands as part of the show. Unfortunately, WWE security was not in the appropriate place at the time. Given CM Punk’s persona as a ‘bad guy,’ fans were naturally heckling him, but unfortunately a few fans began shoving him, and one struck him in the kidney and on the back. WWE regrets that proper security measures were not in place, and CM Punk apologizes for reacting in the heat of the moment. Other than this isolated incident, WWE always provides proper security to ensure the safety of our fans and our performers.”
“I think the whole situation sucks,” Punk told WWE.com. “It’s an unfortunate and isolated incident. I was up in the stands, surrounded.”
“Somebody said, ‘let’s push him down the stairs,’” Punk explained. “I got hit in the ribs three times. I was getting shoved and I was getting punched…Then I started getting tagged in the back of the head. Unfortunately, I lashed out in the heat of the moment and I apologize. I’m really just glad nobody was hurt. UPDATES ON CM PUNK FAN INCIDENT by Mike Johnson @ 10:46 AM on 10/10/2012
I spoke to a public affairs representative in the Sacramento Police Department this morning. The fan who was hit by CM Punk on Monday has declined to press charges and the authorities have determined they will not continue to investigate.
Meanwhile, Dario Teyes, the fan who bragged about striking Punk and helping to cause the incident via Twitter, deleted his Twitter account yesterday to wipe out all the comments regarding Punk. He later re-activated it and has continued writing about the incident, insulting fans.

Open shut. He struck someone and he shouldn't.
They'll settle out of court and give the victim some hefty money, all the merchendise he can cram into his car and free tickets to every Wrestlemania for the next 11 years.

Y'know, I've got to say, its pretty dumb of the guy to be bragging about setting off Punk like he did over Twitter.

Why are they only talk about the guy in the white shirt? The kid in the Lesnar shirt almost pushed Punk down the stairs. That's way more serious than a few slaps to the back of the head.

Given CM Punk's persona as a 'bad guy' fans were naturally heckling him "Punk, just because you are 'bad guy' doesn't mean you're a bad guy."

Ugh, that guy's tweet with the overuse of the word "bro". I wish Punk got the right target

So will Punk get suspended or what? Seems WWE are half taking the blame for the lack of security.

It looked like Punk pushed that kid afterwards and said something to him. The kid then stopped. He was pretty bad to, though.

Nah, they're shifting blame off Punk and onto security, who, honestly, deserve a hefty share of the blame anyways. I'm sure the guy who got hit would have liked to see CM Punk himself actually apologize, instead of letting WWE do it for him in a formal statement, but, meh, this is as good a way to handle the situation as they were gonna get.

I got my Punk Blu-ray delivered this morning and watched it. Only now do I log on and hear about this incident. What to say about it?
The only guy I feel sorry for is the one Punk attacked. From all the camera angles I've seen, the guy who was attacked didn't appear to be trying to mess with Punk. He actually looked to be trying to see what Vince McMahon was going to announce.
I am a huge Punk fan, but I can't support him on this. He deserves his share of the blame. The security also deserves a ton of blame. They should have anticipated Punk entering the crowd, followed him, and kept fans from messing with him. Finally, the fans who were messing with Punk physically deserve the blame coming their way.

I love this guy. "No-one has ever caught me because I'm that smart, despite the fact that the internet now has my name and Twitter account".

Reading that guy's tweets, imagine the things he was saying and how pissed Punk must have been to finally try and swat him. It sucks he hit the wrong guy, but if he had hit the right guy, there'd be zero issue. I still don't blame him at all though, you're in a hostile crowd with people who aren't respecting you as a person, you're just a performer to them, a circus animal to taunt and poke and prod. It was an honest reaction, and a mistake.
This is starting to remind me of Charles Barkley accidentally spitting on a little girl, when he was trying to spit on some idiot that was heckling him and talking shit about his family/teammates the whole game. Fans just have no sense of boundaries sometimes.

Fans just have no sense of boundaries sometimes. Doesn't matter if the fan touched and said bad things to him, Punk shouldn't have laid a finger on him. Makes him and the company look bad.
