I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks JRJR's an overrated hack.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks JRJR's an overrated hack. His art makes Cap look robotic and stiff, to be honest.

If any of you didn't read the Gillen penned Journey into Mystery, you should have.
And then you should been touched inside by today's issue.

Got Swamp thing volume 1 started reading it, so far so good. went to my local library today and found a graphic novel section so got watchmen, Heavy metal Dredd, Joker and Green Lantern : sinestro corps war to keep me entertained, was expecting the librarian to look down on me but he started talking comics, he ordered Swamp Thing regenesis for me.

Marvel Now Point One wasnt bad. I didnt really care much for the Sam Fury story, nor the Forge story but YA and GotG interested me, but then I was always going to get those two. Nova.......clearly they do actually have an explanation for him and why he is around, but it not being Rich is just irking me as a big fan of Rich. The Scott Lang story was the biggest surprise for me here. I had very little hope for that series as being nothing but silliness. I was wrong. Fraction brought his serious face, but still told a fun story. I am more interested in that book now than I was before, and as such the .1 did it's job in that it convinced me to try a book I wasnt going to before in FF. Yeah, I had no plans at all in giving FF a try, but .1 changed that. I think I'll give it an issue or two to see how it goes. I liked the rest of .1 enough to check out the other stuff it previewed. It made me very excited for Young Avengers, though. That can't start soon enough.

The real disappointment for me in the .1 was the Forge story.
It didn't click with me at all. But then I have a bit of a negative take on Hopeless for the abomination that looks like Avengers Arena

I get what you're saying.
I think I was just happy for the Cable tease more than the actual story that went along with it.

I've never really liked old Cable. Always felt his story was pretty much done and done, but that he keeps getting dragged out cos people like big guns

Cable's at his best when he's legitimately trying to make the world a better place and not running around shooting everything. the only guys who ever made him interesting (Fabian Nicieza and Duane Swyerszinsky) are both at DC now.

Hey gang! Just wanted to check in and report on recent developments! Spent last weekend drawing quite a bit and sharing the stage with the lovely Jamal Igle, the frequently drunk Steve Ellis, Aaron Kuder and several other talented artists at a comic book convention in upstate NY! This was my first con, and I was able to sell a good deal of artwork! Got to hang out with the likes of Marc Silvestri, Matt Hawkins and Roger Stern. I am learning so much about the business and feel I am nearing the other side of the proverbial "glass ceiling" that indie artists face to get into the the "big time"! I'll keep you guys posted as my stuff comes out and/or develops!

you got to hang out with Roger Stern? awesomesauce, he's tied with Kurt Busiek as my favorite Avengers writer. He's one of my faves too, and I sort of "grew up" with him as he's from my neck of the woods. I've met him at many cons in the area and he's always been gracious and amicable. For example, a nine-year-old Swamp asked him flat out if he created the Hobgoblin, to which he responded "Yep, and it was NOT supposed to be Ned Leeds!" Nine year-old Swamp was fascinated, and asked him what he had in mind...he told me that he may be able to come back and fix things and he did several years later with the Roderick Kingsley character! I mentioned this to him the other day and he laughed and told me Marvel still dicked him a bit with the editing of the story, so he couldn't make things as twisted as he wanted...he originally had Kingsley a bit more intertwined in Peter's life but left that out probably because they were going to bring Norman Osborn back. I'm sure this is not news to you guys but it's fun to talk to him and if you get a chance he's just a nice guy! It was amazing to be signing stuff near him myself! I'm not gonna lie, part of me can see why a lot of the gang "bitches" about being on the other side of the table, you have to sell your stuff instead of going to see all of the other stuff so it is a bit more boring but I'm so new at this game that I MARKED OUT inside every time I got asked to sign something ha-ha! I had to work my "day job" the night before, (I work 3rd shift) but the love of the comic fans and their compliments and DOLLARS kept the adrenaline going on no sleep Swampy! My wife/manager helps too, as she has a carnival barker talent that makes me sit in awe as she has the ability to drum up enough interest to get a line going in front of my table. I'm hoping if things go good, and some things I can't quite talk about for fear of them falling apart materialize, I can travel and do more cons all over! I hope if I can make it in your neck of the woods you guys and gals come out so we can HANG! You will know me by the trail of the dead...I mean, by the fact that I am seven feet tall pro-wrestler-lookin dude! I would also like to throw art up here soon, so I can get some honest, brutal feedback on how to finish/perfect it!

I was not impressed by A+X at all i was hoping for NOW to be a jump on point for a big DC Fan like myself to try and give Marvel a run.
Looked through .1 in store as the price tag was ridiculous for a non full issue.
Picked up Teenage Mutant Turtles in Color #1 - #3 and #1 - #9 of Ghostbusters which were on sale in a IDW sale that was happening at my local store this week. Ghostbusters first Arc was an enjoyable read.

Gillen is god.

If anyone can find a way to show a giant robot with an O face, it's Greg Land.
