Yeah, we discussed this either earlier this thread or in another, and I shall reinforce here what I said then, which is basically that if Sony do this, I will switch to X-Box if they dont. This is ridiculous and this is greedy. Online passes and things, sure, I can sort of understand that. But an outright ban on preowned games working even offline without paying extra is just a massive slap in the face. It is still better than the alternative of not being able to play used games period whatsoever. Not really. If the preowned game is say, £25, then the pass to use it is £10, that's £35. May as well just buy the damn game at RRP and avoid the hassle, which is exactly what they want people to think. I have to wonder how this would work offline though - if the console isnt online, how would it be able to check? Or is the protection somehow on the disc itself? Would it just not allow a new install if it's been installed once before?

If the games are encoded to just one system, a system bricking will f*** you over big time.

Yeah, I can only assume this is similar to what they did with Blu Ray, where they took out a similar patent for discs and its more to make sure others cant do something like this, rather than to actually do this.....
Could be wrong though, but I should imagine if they do do this and MS dont, then the PS4 will fail and fail hard because the casual gamer will be the people who will get turned off the most by this, especially the way the media will play it up.

Whether they'd do it for free is another thing.

See it doesn't really hurt me in terms of used games as I rarely buy used games but my issue is that I can't take a game I e paid for and own and play on my friends console etc. I hope it doesn't come to fruition in PS4 but if it does I will not be getting one. L either switch to MS or just stick with my PS3 for another generation and hope that the next generation of consoles isn't so stupid.....We'll see though

Well I now officially own a Vita. My GameStop had neither of the holiday bundles so I had to grab the basic $250 Wi-Fi model and nabbed a 16GB memory card as well.
One cool thing, turns out GameStop has an unannounced promotion that when you buy a Vita you get a code for a free digital copy of Madden 13 for Vita as well. So, hey, free game!

Expecting that Microsoft won't if Sony does is ignorant and naive. Microsoft can use all the help they can get with their attach rate, this will do nothing but benefit. Publishers are all over this too.

Man I am enjoying my Vita. Despite the small buttons, I think this might possibly be my favorite handheld yet.

Plus they feel way more tactile. Exactly. And so far the games have been fun. I haven't even touched Uncharted or Gravity Rush yet. Just Madden, WipEout, Sound Shapes, Jetpack Joyride, Welcome Park(this was ingenious, a tutorial for the system's non-button input options disguised as a mini game collection), Chronovolt, and Mutant Blobs Attack. MBA is the real surprise. It is like Mario made a baby with the Katamari series.

I have loved Mutant Blobs since the first PSN game, probably my fave game on Vita.
And if you like Katamari, it is on sale on PSN for like 12 bucks.

God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta Access Mega Man 9 Mega Man 10
Those are the PS+ freebies this week. Sigh. I already have MM10. Although playing MM9 will be worth it.

Mega Man 9 and 10 are free? Clearly Capcom hates Mega Man and feels no one should pay for those games! What a coup, I was going to buy those at some point but hesitated considering that I had already bought MM9 for my previously traded in Wii.

Played the God of War: Ascension beta for a bit. It is fun, but if this is seriously what they are marketing the game on.......oh boy.
While it is fun it doesn't look to have any lasting appeal at all to me. This feels like the type of multiplayer where it'll be its most active during the first few weeks of release and then fall dead by summer......
Sony needs to start showing more of this game's single player or I am canceling my preorder and wait for its price to drop.
