From the Wrestling Observer website: " Raw rating was a 2.5, however it was the lowest rated non-holiday episode of Raw in more than 15 years, as it was a lower 2.5 (2.48 compared to 2.54) than the one on 10/1." Something to remember about this number, they could have drawn their usual 4 million and it'd be low simply because of the number of people watching cable TV last night thanks to the debate. That is why the viewership is the key and yeah it's down but it's still higher than the 10/1 which was a higher rating. The rating system sucks. It really is confusing. You can have a show draw 10 million viewers, but still get a lower rating than a show that drew 8-9 million in the same timeslot.

They should have pulled a Bischoff and given away the debate results:
"If you're thinking about switching channels, the president and the other guy are pretty much in agreement on the Iran situation and both think the economy needs to improve." As long as Mick Foley wasn't going over, it would have worked.
That being said, the current era will go down as The Age of Bad CM Punk Ratings.

Anyone blaming Punk is either a troll or brainless It clearly isn't the extra hour or horrid booking

It's unfair to blame it entirely on Punk, but to claim he has nothing whatsoever to do with it is also ridiculous. He's the center-piece of the show, for goodness sake.

Anyone paying attention to the ratings this week as a barometer of anything WWE related is insane.
Because it isn't like there was anything else on last night or anything.

I remember there being times he didn't draw to what Meltzer wanted and people harping on that but never him losing viewers. CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan and Tensai was the only main event in the last 15 years to LOSE viewers in the final segment of the show. Losing in the overrun is almost physically impossible. Conversely, John Cena vs. Tensai gained 500,000 viewers when they wrestled in the main event so blaming it all on Tensai isn't right.

You can't say this without getting into an argument, but it amazes me that we can blame the #2 or #3 person in the company, but absolve the #1 guy in the company of the same thing.
Truly amazing. LOL.
His segments have actually been outperforming the show by a mile lately, BTW. Don't worry, Cenation, you'll get to see plenty of John soon enough as he overcomes the odds getting booed out of the building against the Rock for the second year in a row.
Oh, he's still being booked as the spokesman for Ryback over the last month or so? I didn't even know he was on TV! (sarcoff)

I don't think this rating means anything.
This is the first time, in 19 years of Monday Night Raw, that it has aired on the same night as a Presidential debate.

Why is anyone surprised? They went up against the third and final Presidential Debate, Monday Night Football, and Game 7 of the NLCS (with the winner moving on to the World Series).
