Just randomly with the recent appearances of Vince and Ryback's WWE title match push, I put together the "Feed Me More" chants with these things and just thought, is this Vince knocking on the fans?
To me, it's the only thing that makes sense. Get the fans to chant "Feed me more", while force feeding us another big guy that we never demanded get pushed. The only question is Vince really arrogant enough to do this? What does everyone else think? Am I on to something or just another jaded member of the IWC? Personally, I think both.

I think if that was the case he'd have Ryback's chant be "Thank you sir, may I have another!"

It's a nice little catchphrase for a guy who started squashing multiple local jobbers in a single match.
To see it as a personal insult on the fans gives the IWC way too much credit in my mind. You're looking way too much into it.

Yea, I'm sure it was Vince's idea for a catchphrase just to insult fans, that makes a lot of sense

I thought the catchphrase was a rib on Ryback himself - look for the Al Snow video where he tells some stories about him from TE2004

Its not force feeding if he's over.
Some people should probably just accept that.

Am I on to something or just another jaded member of the IWC? Absolutely the latter; you are looking way too much into it.

Your theory has a bit of a flaw in it.
If the fans didn't way this "big guy" to get pushed, why would they be chanting "Feed Me More" in the first place? Or do you consider fans so dumb that they're being led like sheep by the WWE to support someone they don't even like?

Or do you consider fans so dumb that they're being led like sheep by the WWE to support someone they don't even like? The chants are being piped in, that's why. But seriously, Ryback's progression as a character and the fans acceptance of it may have been one of the most organic in a long time. Sure, people still chant "Goldberg", but I don't think "Feed Me More" is anything about knocking the fans.

If Ryback came out one week and cut this really eloquent promo about the meaning of feed me more and how it's a biting commentary on the insatiable appetite of the WWE Universe and how they can never be pleased no matter how many men and women break their bodies and their SOULS for them, he'd probably be my favorite character ever. Especially if he went right back to moving his arms and nodding his head and yelling his catchphrase the next week and never mentioned it again.

Its not force feeding if he's over. Some people should probably just accept that. Although it takes the right guy to play this role, more specifically one with his physique(obviously Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler would not be believeable), hasn't pretty much every wrestler pushed in his fashion been over to atleast some degree? It's not like the fans were going crazy over the guy and chanting "feed me more" in his first handful of matches.

It's not like the fans were going crazy over the guy and chanting "feed me more" in his first handful of matches. Of course they weren't. One, he wasn't chanting it in his first few matches, and second, they were mostly on Smackdown. The more they saw, the more they responded.

You still didn't answer my first question, hasn't nearly everyone put in his role been over? The point is, he was chosen to get pushed over more established stars. He wasn't just a random guy that the fans embraced and they started pushing him, he got pushed first and over later.

He's the only one to get this over. If it were simply a case of "Push him like this and get over", we'd have like 4 new main eventers every years. Wrestling never works like that.

I doubt its a knock on fans, wrestling crowds just like chanting things.

I wonder why he didn't do it with Mason Ryan or Ezekiel Jackson.

Just admit that Ryback is over. It'll only hurt a lil, I promise.

1.) a rib on Ryback himself, since he eats a lot 2.) a comment to smarks and the term "feeding jobbers to [wrestler]"
