And Neidhart was feuding with Busick. I remember the Beverly Brothers attacking him after a match, which was why he was dropped. Actually, if I remember correctly, they dropped Niedhart by having Flair beat him on Superstars (or Wrestling Challenge, I can't remember) and then keep him locked in the Figure Four, giving him a kayfabe injury. The Beverlys were involved in him not being there too, though. Heenan even mentions it on the show, while Duggan's team is being introduced.

Interesting, I didn't know Bad News Brown was going to be on Ted Dibiase's team. Or Akeem being on Slaughter's.
BTW, does anybody think it was a demotion for Rude to be just another guy on Earthquake's team right after he was in a WWF championship program? I wouldn't be surprised if thats one of the reasons why he left. He should've been kept in an upper mid-card role.

By the next Mania he was going after Mr. Perfect's IC title. Now maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but I think at the time Bossman and Duggan were as over as the top guys Hogan and Warrior

Considering he was just in place for Warrior to smash through, propped up on his Mania 5 win over Warrior, not really. Rude had two things going for him at this time, besides Macho he was the only one who could get a good match out of Warrior and he had beaten Warrior before. Had he not that those two things, he would have been even further down the card.

I definitely remember the angle with Flair and don't remember Anvil coming back any time soon after that. He must not have been gone too long, because he was teaming with Owen as The New Foundation by the time of the Royal Rumble.

Duggan was a midcard filler but never taken seriously as a threat, Bossman, I think at the time was in the top five babyfaces. It just seems like a waste of Rude's potential for him to be feuding over the WWF championship to propping Bossman(and at some point, he would go over) for the IC championship. If I were to use Rude after Summerslam 1990, I would have him turn face and feud with members of the Heenan Family culminating in him winning the IC title for the second time at Wrestlemania 7. The starting point for his face turn would be at Survivor Series when Rude, Perfect, and Demolition(Smash and Crush) are defeated by The Ultimate Warriors(same as before) with Heenan slapping Rude after he was the last man eliminated from the team. Come to think about it, knowing Heenan's character(and also the fact that him and Rude didn't get along in real life), it dosen't make sense for that NOT to happen. Thats just me though.

He must not have been gone too long, because he was teaming with Owen as The New Foundation by the time of the Royal Rumble. He was back about a week later. He and Owen wrestled regularly from early December to February. To my knowledge, they never did a NF/Beverlys program. But then he got bored again (he did that a lot without Bret) and was moreorless gone by WrestleMania 8.
