I know a lot of people don't like Notre Dame, but I am so very happy right now. I live about 15 minutes away from the university, and the last time the team was this relevant to national title discussions was before I was 10. This is incredible. And unbelievable.

Kind of jumping to conclusions aren't we. Are people really counting Notre Dame out that easily. It's not like they're a scrub team. You really think Notre Dame has a chance against Alabama or even Georgia? I don't. Yeah, I'd tend to agree. I know Notre Dame isn't a cupcake, but if they play against Alabama, they're f***ed.

So if Notre Dame loses. Would the national championship game just repeat the SEC title game? OH GOD THIS IS THE DARKEST TIMELINE If Bama beat Georgia it would Call me crazy, but I don't think Oregon is going to drop out of contention if Notre Dame lost. They still lost in OT to a ranked team. If ND loses one and the other parties win out, I think it's Bama/Oregon for the title.

I love everyone just writing off Notre Dame. As having watched them play all year, I believe they can play with anyone, and will stand by that statement until proven otherwise. I don't think anyone's writing off the Irish so much as being very pessimistic about the BCS voters handing another National Championship game to two SEC teams.

Kevin Hogan and Nick Florence have just piised off every college football outside the Deep South. The SEC will never die. The evil empire APPARENTLY CANNOT NOT BE IN TITLE GAMES! I'm not pissed at Nick Florence. The Sooners still have a shot at winning the Big 12. Holy shit, I've got to root for Texas next week.

I'm waiting to see what happens with Notre Dame. Not because they aren't a good team (haven't seen them enough to judge), but the last two times a Brian Kelly led team made a name for themselves (Central Michigan and Cincinnati), he jumped to another school before their big bowl game. So not only do I think he'll bail for another school, but he'll also be replaced by Butch Jones (again, see Central Michigan and Cincinnati). I'm kidding of course (somewhat), but I honestly want to see Notre Dame win, just to see the SEC streak end. If not, can I at least see Georgia in the title game? I'd rather see a new SEC team in it this time.

Depends which Bama team shows up, Bama has proven that they're vulnerable, and their offense hasn't been much to write home about. ND has a really solid defense.
As for Georgia, I think ND could take them.

They can't keep Notre Dame out of the title game if they beat USC. All they have to do is put them away and they're in. Alabama is not going to jump them by beating Auburn and I doubt Georgia would jump over them and Bama if they beat Georgia Tech.

I'm not really jumping to conclusions. I'm just saying if ND loses next week, which is very possible it isn't like USC is Boston College/Wake Forest. Then if Alabama beats Georgia (I'm assuming that SEC title game happens) (I'm assuming Alabama beats Auburn) (no really lolauburn) Then yeah that would likely repeat or, gulp, Alabama vs Florida.

I really don't see why a two-loss SEC team would automatically get in over an Oregon team that just lost in OT to a ranked team.

Depends on if Barkley plays for USC. If he's out, they have zero shot to beat ND.

If Barkley's out, I have a hard time seeing ND not winning that game. But then, trap games.
Either way I'm rooting for the Irish next week. Because I think these boards can put together a football team and beat Auburn. Good God they're terrible.
