It was the first time I have thought he was really entertaining in this role. It was the first time he felt like Paul Heyman in this role.
He talked about attitude era and ECW and points out that those type things didn't get over, then turned the attention to Punk (who can't get any heat on his own without insulting the city or its sports teams) and helped him get some genuine heat.
I have up to this point felt Heyman was out of place -- he's Brock Lesnar's lawyer and he's going to sue WWE? Seriously?
Nice to see him back.

I liked the whole YOU WANT ATTITUDE/ECW BUT WHINE WHEN YOU GET IT argument. My only problem with that was we didn't get it. I don't know what the hell Heyman was talking about him and Punk delivering. If they were talking about that heart attack segment, that wasn't Attitude. It was garbage.

When you consider some of the stunts pulled during the Attitude Era, it would have fit in nicely. It sadly was a taste of what one would have received during that time.

Umm, a lot of the Attitude Era was garbage. It's overly romanticized. See the "Undertaker trying to embalm Steve Austin alive" thread. I think that was Heyman's point.

Let's not forget that back in the Attitude Era, Owen Hart had a t-shirt that said 'Owen 3:16 says I Just Broke Your Neck'. I think mocking a heart-attack would have fit in seamlessly with all the other indecent shit we got back in those days.

Give me garbage, but at least make it entertaining garbage.

I wasn't out right "WELL I NEVER" offended but that wasn't attitude. Glad to say I'm one of the few who has moved on past that era >_> I love it but a lot of it if you watch now you'll cringe.

Yeah, but that garbage was entertaining. What Heyman & Punk did was not. Give me garbage, but at least make it entertaining garbage. Yeah, that Mae Young hand thing was brilliant entertainment. Beaver Cleavage, too. I think the making fun of a real heart attack would have fit in quite well in the Attitude Era -- it wouldn't have been remembered as the best of it, but it would not have been out of place.

they made fun of far worse things than a heart attack during the attitude era. that kind of thing would've been totally at home.

I liked the whole YOU WANT ATTITUDE/ECW BUT WHINE WHEN YOU GET IT argument. People didn't want the tasteless part of the attitude era, the same crap that even the company mocks today.

I have always loved the Punk and Heyman partnership since it was created, it just works in my opinion. Heyman is just as great as a manager as he used to be

I want one time each episode for someone to do something completely ridiculous and or tasteless. Then everything stops and everyone stares at the person in disbelief for what they've done. Then the person says "ATTITUDE ERA!" and smiles and gives a thumbs up to the camera...then everything is fine.
Like a mentos commercial.

If they were talking about that heart attack segment, that wasn't Attitude. It was garbage. -"Choopy, choopy your pee-pee!" -electrocuting someone's balls -threatening someone with a gun, causing the person to piss himself -Katie Vick -giving birth to a hand -referring to OJ Simpson -homophobic babyfaces calling Goldust a "faggot" -mocking someone's alcoholism & force-feeding him booze The Attitude Era was full of garbage.

They hadn't buried him yet when Bossman chained the casket to his truck.
