I'm not surprised that he's that old, especially with all the makeup that tv actors get. But he does look like an overgrown 12 year old.

I don't see why you are surprised. The nerds are all supposed to be people who have been at their jobs for years (something that typically means that you are in your 30's), and the actor's ages fit that:
Johnny Galecki (Leonard Hopfstadter) - 37 Simon Helberg (Howard Walowitz) - 32 Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh Koothrappali) - 31 Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler) - 37 Melissa Rauch (Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz) - 32 Sarah Gilbert (Leslie Winkle) - 37 Kevin Sussman (Stuart Bloom) - 42
In fact, I think that Kaley Cuoco (Penny ____________), at 26, was the only person to appear on more than one episode of the show that isn't at least 30 today before Sheldon's new assistant showed up on her second episode. This is not a show of really young people despite a university being one of the primary locations for the show.l

Is spending five seconds on Google really that hard? well, probably not. then again, is it really that hard to give a little detail as to which b list celebrity is being talked about?

Is spending five seconds on Google really that hard? well, probably not. then again, is it really that hard to give a little detail as to which b list celebrity is being talked about? The pic I posted didn't show up. Either way, Even though I just got into the show I can say Jim Parsons isn't B List. He's got 2 emmy's and a golden globe. I understand that the show is based around that age group. But Jim Parson's character could very well be like Wormser from Revenge of the Nerds. I mean, he's smart enough. And let's face it, dude doesn't look like he's pushing 40 at all. Melissa Rauch, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg all look their age. I find Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik and Sara Gilbert all look great for their age but since I watched them as teens on shows in my youth I know they are older than me So it doesn't surprise me as much. But Jim Parsons is like a muppet or something.

i remember reading his age when it came out that he was gay, and being more surprised at how old he was Exactly the same response I had. The article was all "OMG Jim Parsons is gay" and I was all "OMG he's almost 40?!".

I don't see why you are surprised. The nerds are all supposed to be people who have been at their jobs for years (something that typically means that you are in your 30's), and the actor's ages fit that: Just caught an episode from season 5 that says Sheldon is 30. His character is like Wormser from Revenge of the Nerds. He started college at 11 years old.

Well keep in mind that the characters' are much younger than their actors who play them.

Sheldon in the last 2 seasons or so seems......very much like an older guy trying to look like he's younger than he really is.

I'd like to interrupt the thread for a second to award the Citizen Snips' "Post of The Day" Award to this excellent Wormser reference.

He isn't really B list though as his show is one of the most popular in the country right now, and he is the most well known on it. And yes I realize I am replying to a month old post. Don't care.
