So I got this for X-Mas and am watching it.......... And i'm like OKAY................. Why are they acting like some of the current superstars commentating on the moments were actually there at the time some of these events took place? A few examples: (DX "invading" WCW) CM Punk saying we were getting our asses handed to us by WCW for weeks and weeks so why not? (KOTR Street Fight) Santino saying we were scared and we all watched in fear until someone said he's okay but it was very close to not being okay. Or was Punk secretly under contract in 1998? Same with Santino in 2001?

It's weird with Ziggler, when it's to boost his accomplishments, like they say he's a former tag champ, they imply that Ziggler is Nicky but when it would make him look bad Ziggler isn't the same guy as Nicky. For Santino, I would have to rewatch it again but maybe he meant it as the viewers were worried for Shane. As for Punk, I'm going to guess that the producer of the segment asked him to say "our".

For the Punk one, he IS in the WWE, so why would it make a difference? It's like an athlete saying "we used to be pretty bad years ago".

if you work for a company long enough you do start to use the terms "we" "our" and so on, doesnt help when there are people still around who were there at the time and i guess it's easy to pick up how they talk about it.
or they were fans at the time and saw it as them being part of the company before they actually were, like english soccer/football fans always use similar words when talking about their team.

I'd like to think Santino Marella was personally present for every single landmark moment in wrestling.

I liked that DVD, and I remember that Punk comment seemed out of place to me as well.
Pretty heavy on Santino commentary in this one, which also felt weird. Some guys like Curt Hawkins only seemed to have one quote on the entire disc, which was also funny.

I just never want to hear that OH MY GOD transition theme ever again. So. Damn. Repititive. Yea I was sick of it after the about the 5th time. Kinda killing my desire to re-watch it now. Did anyone kinda think that maybe some of the interviewee's were faking in thier interviews? I dunno maybe its just me but I never imagined that David Otunga was watching WWF when he was a kid.

I was thinking they made an One Man Gang DVD. One Man Gang was OMG before OMG was cool. At the very least he had a chain gang before John Cena ever did.

I've always felt like the DX invading Nitro was way overyhyped and not all that controversial. all they did was videotape the outside of the arena. and now revisionist historians working for the WWE want us to believe it's as controversial as Hall and Nash showing up on Nitro acting like their WWF characters or half the other out there things WCW, ECW, and WWF was doing at the time. If they had been able to sneak into the arena and maybe get on Nitro with a dx sign and wcw sucks ... "let our people go" sign and got that on camera, then that would have been the coolest thing during that era.
