I don't know why everyone is clamouring for it really. From what I saw he just no sold everyone and wore weird contact lenses. You basically just described Sheamus, minus the contact lenses. Sheamus is COMPLETELY different. For example, he wears a big cross pendant |

Side note: does anyone else feel really sorry for Skip Sheffield? He's named one of the 11 to watch in 2011, then proceeds to not be on television at any point in 2011. Also on the list was McIntyre, Kidd, Otunga and Riley. |

What the hell is a "Ryback"? I get the gimmick, but that name makes no sense.

I went to the Little Rock Smackdown show last night and saw Skip's dark match. They announced him as Ryback and he acted the same as Skip acted, he was wearing something similar to Big Show except plain black and he won his match. He did well.
Outside of that, that's it. He didn't do anything which made him appear different.

If anyone wants to see the Ryback gimmick and what it is suppose to look like then search on youtube for :"Sheamus O Shaunessy and Ryback vs Kafu and Lupe Santiago FCW" Thoughts: 1) uhh...okay. Him being "The Terminator" basically just translated, in-ring, to him no-selling and being a typical destroyer hoss. 2) He's wearing Zeus' tights. 3) He has THE most awesome dramatic 80's theme. It sort of reminds me of Jake Roberts' "Trust Me" theme. 4) That early version of Sheamus' theme is a trip. Overall, it just seems like a bad 80's throwback hoss gimmick, like Kozlov when he first started. |
