My only issue was it went on just a bit too long for my liking, hence my 'anti-climactic' and 'annoying' comments. The concept itself, I will say is pretty solid.
Hell I loved when JBL did something similar with the fireworks.

He should have the same exact segment every single week. Whether he gets boos or cheers. The same EXACT routine.

I've just got around to watching this. At first, it was the strangest return in wrestling history, especially given his character before he left... but I've seen what a few others have now. Jericho is definitely a heel, no doubt about it.

No, I don't believe so. It'll definitely lead somewhere, I'm expecting a sort of cross between SRS Jericho and a 'Joker' version of his classic gimmick, if that makes any sense.

If (when) he turns and targets Punk, they'll make total sense. Just listen and read the verbiage from the videos. "The End Begins". They're even telling you up front that this is the start of something. I can see that. Because a part of me doubts the WWE would waste time and money on nothing. Even though they have done it in the past. Plus I know there is more to come... well I think there is more to come. Just wondered if fellow folk thought maybe this was just one big APRIL FOOLS type of thing. Knowing Jericho's type of stuff though, I wouldn't be surprised.

There will be more to come from him soon. I think he'll make a move at the Rumble.
His trollface when he was on the ropes was classic. I hope someone makes a .gif of that.

If you heard Lawler before they cut to commercial, he sounded worried. There had to be more to it.

If you heard Lawler before they cut to commercial, he sounded worried. There had to be more to it. Now that you mention it, I was wondering about that, too. I was telling my friend "It looks like he forgot his lines". I mean, he grabbed the mic, then dropped it and skipped around the ring. The look on his face, as troll-y as it was, kinda looked like the face of an on-stage actor who just completely froze and blew his lines.

WWE has this problem with y2j. He comes in strong and interesting, then after a few weeks he get's boring. This time they reached boring in record time.

I'm sure it was setting up for his heel turn, which will transition into a feud with Punk or something. That doesn't strike me as particularly interesting at this stage, but it's Chris Jericho, so I doubt I'd have liked it anyway.

The only thing that made sense to me was in the promos, the little girl says that "you brought it upon yourselves". Meaning, we got all hyped up for some awesome return and when we didn't get an awesome return, we got pissed and booed. The power of subliminal messages and social networks bit us in the ass. Jericho knew that everyone (IWC and casual fans) would boo him if he didn't say anything and the troll job worked to perfection.

I know we are just going in circles here, but that's kinda the point. Jericho really, really, really doesn't want people to like him. People in this thread that liked the segment are simply showing respect for a very innovative heel tactic.

My first thought was that next week, he's going to deliver a promo about how he can get cheered for 10 minutes for doing nothing but run round the ring, not even saying a word.

I wouldn't be shocked if Jericho came out next week in his formal suit and starts off his promo with something like, "Happy now? Is that what you want? Some preening parasite pandering to your pedantic pleas for positive reinforcement?"
Or he could carry this further and try to actually be the anti-face face for a while. This is similar to how they first sold Kurt Angle and I think Jericho could make it work.
I don't see anyway he is a face out of this, but it was brilliant in my mind.

Okay..maybe I'm a little slow on the mental draw, but everybody is saying 'This is so brilliant! I see it now!" and no one is following that up by explaining what it is that they're seeing.
Can someone please explain to me the whole meaning behind this, because I don't get it.. (That's just an honest question, not sarcasm)
The only thing I can figure out is that he's the puppet master and everyone else is the puppet. I guess?
