It's exactly like that if you ignore the history of the business and talk about it like it's always been "sports entertainment". ....since it was "sports entertainment" years before any of the people mentioned in this thread ever left elementary school, and since even in the past shoot fights were only a last resort, I'd say it's absolutely appropriate to ignore that. And I would disagree completely. Why is this a popular topic of discussion among fans then? Do you really not see any connection between legit fighting and pro wrestling? Even if shoot fights were a last resort, that's obviously enough of a connection to inspire a discussion like this, I mean, here we are talking about it. I'm just saying, it's not "bizarre" that wrestling fans might have a discussion like this. That's what the post I replied to said.

It's usually someone that you least suspect, so I nominate Tyson Kidd, he had to be the baddest mofo on the planet to wear that fringe hairstyle for so long.

In a bar fight?
Bar fights last 30 seconds, you know. It either ends with a 1-2 punch knockout or a front neck lock.
With that being said, The Big Show is my pick because at his size, if he hits you, you are OUT, and if he doesn't want to hit you, he can very easily grapple you.
In an MMA fight? Then not Show. Swagger, Del Rio or Barrett, probably Del Rio.

reading that he knocked out some well known MMA guy a few years back. Kane is a tough dude no doubt but that never happened.

Something about Wade Barret, from the first time he was on NXT, gave me an image of "I would legit never want to piss him off at a bar/in public". Of course, sometimes the people you most expect ain't nothing. The fluke factor aside, I still find it hard to believe Joey Styles decked JBL back when. JBL seems like someone you'd be afraid to breathe the wrong way around, and Styles seems like such a twig...

Kind of off topic, but didn`t somebody recently claim that the strongest guy in WWE was Kane? The interviewer tried to correct him with "Mark Henry", but the guy claimed that Kane was actually stronger. For the life of me I can`t remember who it was that said this.

Not to take anything away from it, but it didn't sound like such a crazy David and Goliath story when he told it.

Blackman supposedly whipped his ass as well. To be fair Blackman is a bad mofo himself though.

For the record, I don't believe the JBL/Steve Blackman story. I've only ever seen it posted on this forum. I could be wrong, but I suspect somebody just made it up. Isn't the story that Blackman karate kicked him in the face by an airport baggage claim and KO'ed him? I'm not saying Blackman couldn't do that to someone but to me it just sounds more like a story somebody would make up than something that would happen.

Plus, if it happened in an airport, wouldn't it have been a huge story? (I imagine this is post-9/11, when airport security went crazy.)

That being said, I'd have to go with Kane. He'd tear shit up in a bar fight both with his strength and agility. Not to mention he's a very intelligent dude which is overlooked about 95% of the time. Bryan would tie people into knots though. Wrestlers are always a tough fight. If you don't hit them first, they will take you to the ground and then it's over.
