Ahmed also refused to put a number of people over, including Kurrgan and Chyna. In addition to injuring a few people himself, I believe. And let's not forget Ahmed also tried to use his ranking in PWI magazine to somehow net him a bigger push. triple h started f***ing the owners daughter to get his push.

Triple H was already a main eventer before he banged Steph. People forget that Hunter was an IWC favorite back in 1999 and was already at the top of the card.

Mark Henry gets injured, so he loses the WHC.
Randy Orton gets hurt, so he's booked to win the Royal Rumble.
Makes sense.

The injury excuse is just another cop out when they want to fire someone or not hire someone. John Cena injured his neck in a match with Batista. Triple H injured Randy Orton. Edge was constantly hurt, as is Undertaker and Rey Mysterio. Kennedy got released, Hurricane got released and both guys were viewed as 'injury prone'. But it's entirely selective.

Hurricane got released for that taxi cab brawl he did with Jericho and 2 other passengers. It didn't help he had non prescription Somas on him. And those others injury prone guys you mentioned still had value to WWE. Anderson was nowhere near that level. And he not exactly proving what WWE missed out on unless you consider stealing Dane Cook's gimmick groundbreaking.

I don't want to see Bryan anywhere near Wrestlemania this year. Orton or no Orton, Bryan should have never won the title to begin with. Show needs to destroy him next week on Smackdown, maybe injure him badly and keep his blandness off of WWE tv for a while, and then transition the title to Barrett. Honestly, I don't see what Randy could possibly gain from winning the Rumble. He's already established. He doesn't need it. Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan for the strap at WM would be an insomniac's dream (to steal a line from Michael Cole). Bryan is nowhere near ready to have a high profile match at WM. I was one of the few who was in favor of keeping a match with him in it off of the card. And I hate Boreton enough as it it, so this would just make my hate even more prevalent. triple h started f***ing the owners daughter to get his push. Are we still throwing THIS nugget around as an excuse of why Trips rose to power in WWE? Let's get one thing straight, yes, he had relations with Steph. But even before that happened, he was already slated as a top star. Yes, Trips called the shots backstage and sort of still does, but at LEAST he has the mind for the business and knows what he's doing. He doesn't get a free pass for everything. I can't believe people still thing that Punk got buried at NOC when he lost to him. Do people not realize that it took 2 pedigrees, a jackknife powerbomb, AND beatdowns from R-Truth and the Miz? It didn't help Punk in the long run, but he sure as hell didn't get BERRIED as some people here seem to claim. Basically, what I'm saying is, being a top star doesn't give you free reign to do anything. Didn't Triple H AND the Undertaker get fined for doing exposed steel chair shots to the head in their Wrestlemania 27 match?

so now them trying to push orton to the moon while half cripple is basically saying we'll even push a corpse They aren't trying to push Orton to the moon. He's there, they succeeded years back. He could hold every title in the company and it wouldn't be a 'push' it'd just be an angle. Also in case you forgot we all spell it newZ to remind ourselves that it is a bunch assholes in a room making shit up. It is not reliable and 90% of the time that they are right it's by accident not actual foreknowledge.

Keep in mind that we don't know for sure that Randy is slated to win the Rumble. It could be likely that he is with his home town and he'd have nothing better to do at the show apparently, but it's all a guess right now anyway. Randy's always a safe bet for winning since he's a perennial top name now. Plus it all depends on what the title matches for Mania will be and how willing WWE is to not only give someone new a chance to wrestle for the title at Mania, but also give them the added push of winning the Rumble. As good as someone like Ziggler may be right now, I doubt that WWE is ready to strap that rocket to him yet, especially when the WWE is so concerned about ratings and they would feel much safer having an established name win the Rumble and build to a title match this year. Plus, it's not like Randy would be the only guy to compete at Mania and only make a couple appearances before that point (hai Rocky). It's weird, yeah, but it's WWE so whatever.

Another certified main eventer/former champion winning the Royal Rumble? Snooze.
Del Rio made sense, even though him being the opener and losing at Mania didnt.

They said on TV that Trips and Taker got fined, so take that for what it's worth. Orton doesn't NEED the Rumble (I was in Detroit when he won)... it'd be a good hometown feel-good moment, but I think there are a few guys who deserve it (Ziggler, Barrett, maybe even Shaemus).

Man, what's with all the revisionist history from you? Mark Henry gets injured, so he loses the WHC. Randy Orton gets hurt, so he's booked to win the Royal Rumble. Makes sense. To be fair, while I don't think Orton should win the Rumble (I agree that it's time for new blood and would root for Ziggler, or Barrett), it's not the same. Having a champion injured is a more immediate concern than having someone who would compete in a match 3 months from now.
