I've always been a Goldust fan and I've been watching his pre-debut promos on YouTube which I haven't seen in years and man are they AWESOME!
In his promos, he calls out guys like Undertaker, Diesel, and Shawn Michaels...
"In time, your Heartbreak Kid will witness the presence of a real star, not a figment of a mere boy's imagination. There will soon be permanent vacancy in the Heartbreak Hotel."
How cool would it be if someone, before they debuted, just started calling out Cena, Orton, Triple H, Punk and all the top guys? We don't see that at all these days.
While I'm at it....any other Goldust fans here?

To me the Goldust character is second only to the Undertaker as far as WWF over the top gimmicks go. His entire run as Goldust has been amazing, hopefully we'll get a final act.

Goldust has always been gold to me. He just seem so natural at everything he did.
Props to those who feud with him because some did turn down working with him because of how well he played the character.

Definitely one of my all time favorites. His original entrance really set the scene so to speak. Really sold his character in the ring.
Come to think of it, he had a lot of qualities that very few others have today.

Those promos were outstanding, but my favorites of his were May-June '96 during his feud with the Undertaker and Ahmed Johnson. The psychological level he brought to already bold television made it incredibly subversive even to this day. His 1st heel run is up there with heel WCW Jericho as one of my absolute favorites of all time. I don't think there's a bad promo in the bunch.

The pre-debut Goldust promos were so good that I didn't even realize he was Dustin Rhodes!!! It wasn't until he made his in-ring debut at In Your House Sept. (or October?) '95 and took his wig and robe off that I realized it was Dustin!

Since the alleged "refusal to do the breast implant angle", he hasn't been quite the same IMO. Not saying he sucked after then or anything, just, he lost his luster, if you will

LOVED IT! The eerie music made him so creepy. I had no idea it was Dustin Rhodes until he took the wig off in his debut.

I liked the original character. Marlena too.
Wasn't interested in Tourettes Goldust or TAFKAG

I liked the original character. Marlena too. Wasn't interested in Tourettes Goldust or TAFKAG I agree with his tourette's and artist formerly known as incarnations, but he still sold those characters amazingly well. That's what I remember most from those.

Loved Goldust and always have, he's in my top 10 all time list, and probably my favorite guy still under contract. Will be so sad when he hangs it up for good.
