That sucks. You can just tell that Orton was really trying to avoid any injuries just based on the style that he works but s*** really does happen sometimes.
EDIT: First Henry, then Del Rio, now Orton...God, everybody's getting hurt.

There was some doubt about it's legitimacy in the spoiler thread but, it legit according to PWInsider:
RANDY ORTON INJURED by Mike Johnson @ 12:23 AM on 12/28/2011
Randy Orton suffered an injury at tonight's Smackdown taping, where he faced Wade Barrett in a Falls Count Anywhere match. WWE has already disclosed the injury via their Twitter account but did not disclose the nature of the injury.
PWInsider.com has confirmed Orton's injury was back related. We have not confirmed the severity but know it was something to do with at least one of the discs in his back.

Okay, strike that. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Well, when you throw a guy down the stairs, that's bound to happen.

I've got nothing against Orton and I'm certainly not glad he's injured, but I have to admit that as a fan I'm more interested in the prospect of Barrett feuding with Sheamus instead of a rerun with Orton.

Yeah, I'm not one to be glad someone is injured but the prospect of watching SmackDown WITHOUT Orton in the spotlight? It's a Christmas miracle! o:

Agreed. I'm more interested in Smackdown in general without him being around for a bit. It really sucks though that at least once a year I feel like we say that about someone, but it always has to come at the hands of an injury.

I don't like the sound of anything with disks and backs. With Austin, Angle, and Edge...I cringe at the thought of any problems in that area.
Hopefully he will be fine for Mania.

not buying it because there's no way he took that bump, unless it's something that cropped up recently (he wasn't on Raw afterall) and this was there way to write him out.

Hopefully he's a surprise return at Rumble.
If I was a fan who paid for the Rumble, I'd be pissed if he wasn't there considering it's his hometown.

So the injured list includes Randy Orton, Taker, Mark Henry, Del Rio, Christian, Sin Cara... anybody else?

He's still kind of a main eventer to me. :/

Was someone here at the show that knows what happened in the match?

Yeah, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Randy needs time off for an injury, and Barrett was booked to take him out for a kayfabe excuse.
