Found out about the show on Friday, was able to get good seats and actually got there before belltime (4 hour drive)....
-more WWE interactive crap than you can shake a Twitter at! before the show they asked fans to tweet with "#WWESiouxFalls" or text in (to remote 5 digit#) about the show. They also had a "RawActive" (fans pick the stip) for DB v. Kane (Street Fight or 2/3 falls match). Many of the tweets were posted on small monitors on both sides of the mini-set.
Show actually had the SD open play on the monitors - nice touch.
Our ring announcer- Matt Striker.
Opening Match - Brodus Clay(w/funkadactyls) v. Damien Sandow/
Brodus out to a great pop. Sandow rattled off his spiel about people being ignoramuses for cheering this "joke" (Brodus) but it was hard to hear him since the house mics were horrible. Sandow rarely had the advantage. Brodus wins on the "Splat" (or is it the Funk-U?). Several kids are brought into the ring to dance.
Match #2 - Usos v. McGilicutty & Johnny Curtis Usos did an abbreviated version of the war chant, as there was a little confusion getting them set up (apparently they wanted a mic on them). Curtis and Mike had to heel it up hard to get people to care, and most fans still can't tell Jimmy & Jey apart. Usos over with the crowd, good 10 minutes of work. Usos win on a Superfly splash.
Match #3 - Jinder Mahal v. Ryback Crowd CRAZY over for Ryback, not a lot of heat on Mahal. "Feed Me More" chants all through the match. Longer than a typical Ryback match, but the big man still gets a win.
Three video packages played during the show - two "one man promos" with Ziggler (bragging about how he'll beat Orton and cash in on Shaemus) and Daniel Bryan (losing his mind over the "YES" Chants). a Raw recap of the Punk/Cena situation was also aired. Striker encouraged fans to voice their opinions about the Cena/Punk stuff on Tout.
Match #4 - Natalya v, Funkadactyl Naomi (?!) Natalya claims that Kaitlyn couldn't make the show due to "Travel issues" so wasn't expecting to wrestle. Out comes Naomi in her dancing gear (but wrestling shoes instead of her high-heeled boots). Natalya gets all technical on Naomi, but thanks to some outside interference from Cameron Naomi steals the win.
match #5 - Daniel Bryan v. Kane in the "RawActive pick the stip" match - a Street Fight Bryan spent much of the match on the mic demanding that we a) stop the "Yes" chants, b) stop giving suggestions, and c) NO TABLES. Kane finally stole the mic from Bryan after the protest about tables, looked it over......
Simply said "Yes," and punked Bryan out with the mic.
some fussing with the table, but the finish was well done - Bryan tried to do the diving headbutt into Kane on the table, but Kane rolled clear, caught Bryan on the way down and chokeslammed him through the table for the win.
From here, intermission. Got a chance to say hello to Ref John Cone and take a pic of one of Hunico's bikes. Hunico didn't work the show, though.
Match #6 - Cody Rhodes v. Sin Cara Cody has the "pic" of unmasked Sin cara handy and shows it to the luchador. After looking it over, he points at it, then to himself. Cody nods. Cara rips up the pic, crumples it up and throws it at Cody to get the match started. Cara kept the crazy stuff to a minimum and stole a win from Cody.
match #7 - Dolph Ziggler (w/o Vickie) vs. Randy Orton mixed reaction for Ziggler, enormous pop for Orton. Randy even took a moment to show off a "Randy Killer Orton" sign and autograph it for a fan.
Both guys did some showing off:
-Orton tried to reverse a neckbreaker spot into an RKO but Ziggler ducked clear. Without stopping, Orton spun and landed in the "Viper is coiled" position.
-Ziggler did his headstand headlock and a Flair strut after escaping some of Orton's offense
-Orton escaped a shoulderblock in the corner by rolling up to the top rope to sit in the "corner hammock".
These guys were given plenty of time. Orton wins on the RKO.
MAIN EVENT - Shaemus v. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship, Last Man Standing Ricardo introduced Del Rio and wouldn't give Striker the mic back to intro Shaemus. A little "keep away" ensued but eventually Striker was given a chance to introduce the Great White.
Lots of brawling around the ring, up the ramp and through the fans (which got out of control quickly - they got back to the ring fairly quick). Both took several kendo stick shots and some chairshots. Finish had Del Rio accidentally hitting Ricardo with a chair and eating the Brogue kick. While Shaemus was celebrating Ziggler tried to cash in. I think he ate TWO brogue kicks for his troubles.
Not a bad show overall, though the "Wrestling" was definitely light. Going to the Rochester(MN) show tonight.
