I'm oddly not affected by this news. Maybe it's just because I don't like the guy. He's an awesome punt returner, but he hasn't really produced much on offense and he always seems to be the centerpiece of some half-assed trick play that blows up in Josh McDaniels' face. Maybe now Brandon Lloyd can get back into the gameplan. I don't know, he sure did a number on my Colts. You may miss him after all. Lions placed Titus Young (undisclosed) on injured reserve, ending his season. I think they did a MRI of his head and found it empty. That should concern anyone. Trying to figure out if I should start Schaub or Luck this week. My indecision lies mainly in the fact that I don't know if the Pats/Texans game is going to be a low scoring fight 'till the bitter end or a shootout. The Colts are facing the Titans, so Luck's stats ought to be pretty good, but I have a feeling I'd regret starting Schaub in what could be an epic shootout. That is a tough one. I think that Luck might get you more points. The Colts actually lead the AFC in passing yards right now (5th overall) and the Titans are 26th in pass defense. Add to that I bet that the Texans will try to eat up the clock by running the ball to reduce the number of times Brady gets the ball and stunt their ability to get momentum. Still, if any team can force the Texans to try to win a shootout it would be the Patriots.

I really don't understand the fawning over Julian Edelman and the consternation that his injury has caused. First, despite the insistence of Josh McDaniels through the first quarter of the 2012 regular season, Edelman is not and will not be a suitable replacement for Wes Welker. First, he's not as good. Second, he's injury-prone. Also, he has 21 catches this season. Was he a phenomenal punt returner? Absolutely. Was he anything more than a fourth receiver? No. The offense will progress along just fine without him. They still have Welker, Lloyd and Aaron Hernandez, Rob Gronkowski will be back before season's end and hopefully they can integrate Donte Stallworth and Visanthe Shiancoe into the offense before the postseason begins.

Yeah, when it comes right down to it I'll probably end up picking Luck - and hopefully Foster gets me a lot of yards, too. ;D

Playoff picture after Week 13:
AFC 1) Houston(clinched playoff berth) 2) New England(clinched AFC East)
6) Pittsburgh at 3) Baltimore 5) Indianapolis at 4) Denver(clinched AFC West)
tiebreakers: New England has better conference record than Baltimore and Denver(Patriots 8-1, Ravens 8-2, Broncos 6-2) Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati Week 7
NFC 1) Atlanta(clinched NFC South) 2) San Francisco
6) Seattle at 3) Green Bay 5) Chicago at 4) NY Giants
tiebreaker: Green Bay beat Chicago Week 2
Teams eliminated from playoffs: Kansas City(Week 12), Jacksonville, Oakland(Week 13)
Playoff Scenarios for Week 14:
Win and need help Baltimore - The Ravens can clinch a playoff berth with a win and a loss or tie by either Pittsburgh or Cincinnati or a tie and losses by both the Steelers and Bengals. The Ravens can clinch the AFC North with a win and losses by both the Steelers and Bengals.
San Francisco - The 49ers can clinch a playoff berth with a win and losses by Dallas, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Washington, and a loss or tie by either Seattle or St. Louis.
Improve their position Houston - The Texans clinch the AFC South with *a win and an Indianapolis loss or tie* or with a tie and a Colts loss.
*With this scenario, the Texans can also clinch a 1st round bye with a loss or tie by either Baltimore or Denver, and can clinch home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs if both the Ravens and Broncos lose.
Atlanta - The Falcons can clinch a 1st round bye with a win and either losses or ties by both Chicago and Green Bay or a San Francisco loss or with a tie and losses by the Bears and Packers. If the Falcons win and get both scenarios(GB and CHI loss or tie, SF loss), they clinch home-field advantage through the NFC playoffs.

I have a tough choose for my QB start. I have Luck and Rogers. Now, I have always started Rogers for advise reasons outside the bye week. Last week Luck out scored Rogers. Which as happened before but it's hard to go against Rogers. But the issue with me wanting too start Luck is Rogers targets are so bagged up. As I'm in a must win situation. I need all the points I get as I'm in must win situation to make the playoff in my league.
What really killed me all year is WR. Being that I got stuck with the whole Larry Friz, and the we don't know who our QB by the week in AZ. Plus Harvin going down make it worst. As Harvin was my guy for most of my season at WR. I've been basicly serving because of Peterson who I took the gamble on at Draft time he was my second pick (First round of my keeper who was Rogers)and it paid off.

You know the Jets' QB situation is pretty godawful when everyone thinks McElroy should start because the Arizona defense got sloppy and the running game took advantage, which led to A touchdown and a 1 point win over the worst quarterback I've ever seen play the game.

Yeah but starting him can be any worst then how Mark been playing. A win is a win and he did what Mark couldn't do. regardless who starts they need a new QB and a new head coach. Sanchez and Rex need too go before that team ever becomes anything worth a crap. I'm not even a Jets fan but even I can see that.

You know the Jets' QB situation is pretty godawful when everyone thinks McElroy should start because the Arizona defense got sloppy and the running game took advantage, which led to A touchdown and a 1 point win over the worst quarterback I've ever seen play the game. And yet their starting QB, their franchise QB, the guy they're paying an assload to, couldn't. The season is a loss for the Jets, so logic says start one of the backup QBs (McElroy if Tebow's not healthy, and Tebow if he is). But nope, they gave Mark Sanchez a huge deal (they and Sanchez were the only ones that thought it was a good move), so they've got to stick with him.

They need way more than just a new head coach and a new QB. They need a new team. Ownership has done a great job of completely destroying a competitive, solid team over the years and replacing them with troublemakers and idiots.
I don't think Sanchez was ever going to be the next John Elway, but he had the potential and talent to be a good franchise quarterback. Rex Ryan, Mike Tannenbaum, and Woody Johnson have done an amazing job of completely ruining any potential the kid had. And in that way, Rex is just like dear old dad.

Sanchez was, is and always will be overrated in my eyes. When the Jets made the playoffs with him at the helm, it was in spite of him, not because of him. He's playing like crap this season. Absolute garbage. Bench him.
Tebow may be overrated as well, but at least he was the fourth quarter king. What can it hurt to throw him or McElroy in there and see what happens? Oh, because Tebow or McElroy could start winning games and then the Jets brass will have to answer to the fanbase when the season is over why they didn't bench Dirty Sanchez sooner.

Tebow also had much better talent and coaching suited for his read option style of play in Denver. Maybe he can do it against the Jacksonvilles of the league, but the Jets don't really have the personnel to do that. And I also get the feeling that Tebow's playstyle is the kind of thing defenses learn and tear apart, leaving it with the same kind of effectiveness as the Wildcat (as in, none).
And really, that's what makes Robert Griffin III so dangerous. He plays in that read option, and eventually he won't be able to do that much anymore because he'll get beaten down. But he still has a killer arm in both terms of strength and accuracy. He'll be able to become a typical NFL quarterback with ease once his body is unable to do that crazy run game.

I can see the Jets adjusting to Tebow's style of play. I mean, Sparano is the offensive coordinator. It probably wouldn't work very well against the Patriots since Belichick seemed to own Tebow, but it still wouldn't hurt to run that offense for a game and see how it turns out. Worst case scenario, he's as bad as Sanchez.
