I know lots of people will pick The Dark Knight Rises, but I will take that movie over this...... Yea.....I'm a huge Pixar fan I have to say I was largely disappointed in this. This is the 2nd Pixar movie in a row where I didn't end up buying the DVD. I know the marketing and trailers should've gave me the warning sign, I still thought it was going to be great. I mean, remember how awful Tangled looked based on the trailers and tv spots? That movie turned out great. Plus, Brave was starting off well in the first act, but once {Spoiler}Merida poisons her Mom and turns her into a bear , they lost me. I honestly can't think of a more disappointing 2012 movie personally than Brave.

I don't know if I would actually classify is as disappointing, but I have a really strange relationship with Prometheus right now. Alien fans, including me, had ridiculous expectations for it and maybe expectations that nothing could have met. But it's such an odd film. I'm not sure what to make of it even now, and yet I still went out and bought the combo pack.

The Expendables 2.
There is barely any story in it and you don't really feel the villain in this one.
Yeah the first one had a shoestring action film story, but it at least felt coherent. This one was basically just a bunch of cool set piece action moments barely tied together.
I mean it was cool to see the old guys kicking ass, but that's about all the film really has going for it........
As for Brave, I wasn't even hyped for it. When the trailers focused so much on making the film look like an anachronistic pro-feminism flick, I just couldn't work up the interest to see it. Especially since just a few months earlier The Secret World of Arrietty came out and had a great female protagonist(like all films written by Miyazaki) and its ad campaign wasn't focused on Arrietty going, "I am woman, hear me roar!"

BEAUTIFUL film, seriously the best visuals in a live action film this year, imo, just everything else was bland..........

Skyfall. Great opening but the second half just deflated.

Dark Knight Rises (and I liked it, just didn't live up to the last two) Prometheus (again, really liked it but some of the writing was questionable... just it could have been so much better)
On the other end of the spectrum, movies that exceeded expectation:
Cabin In The Woods Moonrise Kingdom The Comedy The Avengers

Wreck-It Ralph for me, please don't hurt me I'm curious, what did you dislike about Wreck-It Ralph? I didn't dislike it, I just was disappointed with the movie, the plot was very slow and just couldn't get into the characters; the movie wasn't bad but IMO it was just another Disney-Pixar movie but now with Videogames.

The Devil Inside.
Granted, I wasn't expecting much, but I think it may honestly be one of the worst movies I have watched. The ending made the entire cinema groan.

For me:
Prometheus Cabin in the Woods- Way too meta. Dumb ending. Haywire- Great fight scenes, but otherwise so DULL. A tumbleweed actually rolled across the screen in one scene. Wrath of the Titans- I liked the first. The second one was just "DADDY HUG ME! The Movie" Premium Rush- Lame Red Dawn- If you're going to remake Red Dawn, don't dilute it.
