He wouldn't fit as Batman. Batman is mysterious but very strong and resolute.
Depp would have made an excellent Riddler though.

Honestly, I could maybe believe Depp as Bruce Wayne. Maybe not so much as Batman. See, I'm the exact opposite. I could imagine him doing Batman fine, but I'd wonder about the Bruce Wayne aspect. In much the same way as I thought Val Kilmer was a good Batman, but a questionable Bruce Wayne. And, for George Clooney, the exact opposite of that. Christian Bale, on the other hand and in my opinion, played a great Bruce Wayne and Batman. I wonder if it's hard for directors to find somebody that can portray both Bruce and Batman with success - as they're polar opposites. I think Depp could pull off the dark element of Batman, but I'd question the millionaire playboy aspect of Bruce Wayne. |

Depp would probably be better as Wally West Flash or a Supervillain. Depp is WAY too old to be Wally. I'd say Ryan Reynolds if he weren't already Green Lantern. but we all know DC comics is trying to pretend Wally doesn't exist right now so unless some higher up at Warner goes over them we're getting the Barry Allen show (if indeed the movie ever happens at all). |
