I have a Galaxy 10.1. In many ways I find it superior to the Ipad. More apps for free, has a flash player, but it do not thing it is as stable as the ipad or as quick. But I like mine a lot.

I picked one up at Wally World a few weeks back and I am very impressed. I have only one minor complaint, I wish the charging cord was a little longer, but all things considered it is a good piece of equipment.

Much better than the iPad imo, no stupid iTunes software to deal with and so much more free.
However, if you have other Apple products, the synchronisity between then probably makes it worth the extra cash if you have it.

Interesting. When our phone contract's run out, I was thinking the new Galaxy phones may be an option Don't have a tablet right now, but I'd definitely consider one of these, especially if they are on sale.

You can definitely find faster tablets (Like the Nexus 7) but one pro that the Samsung Galaxy tabs have is expandable storage (which the Nexus 7 doesn't have).

This is probably a pretty dumb question, but while on the subject, can you text on a tablet?
Like are there apps, or an app you can connect with your gmail or something and use it to text with people?

You can access G-Mail and get apps for things like MS messenger and Skype.
You wont be able to SMS text unless the tablet has a SIM card feature.

I would've gone with a Kindle Fire or Nexus 7 personally.
However you can't deny that expandable storage. That's one of the few things I like about my Nook Touch(that, th e-reader function it has, and its awesome streaming video quality). Really, aside from the small app selection(done on purpose to make sure the apps fit the 7" screen natively instead of being stretched to fit it like with some apps on other tablets) I love my Nook.
Really at the end of the day you can't go wrong with any non-iPad tablet.

I have a Nexus 7 tablet and I love it. Bought one for me and one for my wife for Christmas.
