It seems to me that some of you haven't seen anything prior to 2011 based on the some of the votes here

I went with Chris Jericho as best all-around...
Majorly over as Heel or Face Great on the mic and in-ring Can have a good match with an opponent of any shape and size
For a while, it seemed like WWE trusted him the most to make anything work. IMO, WWE's Most Valuable Player from 2008 to 2010...I could even give him 2003.

I went with Bryan, but now I just really want a triple threat between HBK, Bryan and Angle.

Taker is really underrated by IWC. Just based on his longetitivty, Taker has to be, at least, in the top 10 best performers.

Because you said "performer" and not "wrestler", I voted for The Rock. No one else on the list delivered more in both matches and promos combined.

The Rock is one of the few guys who really gets "it". The most point of professional wrestling is to entertain, and Rock entertains more than most. From his explosive wrestling style to the fun catchphrases, the whole larger-than-life "Superstar" look, his charisma, and the fun matches, there's nothing Rock does better than be entertaining.

Toss-up between Eddie and Bryan. Went with Eddie via coin-flip.

All the guys on this list were capable of putting on great matches but the real kicker is consistency and longevity in the big match or as THE top draw for the ppv. Some of the guys on this list had there best matches in the midcard where the pressure wasn't on them to go out and put on a show. Perfect example is Benoit. Everybody remembers him as an incredible worker, yet other than Mania 20, I can't name one great Benoit main event match. Longevity in WWF/E narrows down the list to the guys that had 5 year+ run in the main event/big match. Those guys are: Austin, Angle, Cena, Edge, HHH, Jericho, Kane, Michaels, Orton, Punk, Rock, Taker
Of that group, cut out the guys that didn't work well with a variety of wrestlers/only worked well with other workhorses: Austin, Angle, Edge, HHH, Jericho, Michaels, Punk, Rock, Taker
Of that group, subtract the guys that were injury prone or missed substantial(6+ month sections of time) in that 5+ year run. That should narrow your list down to: Angle, Edge, Michaels
Now, we judge by length of time on top, Angle was in the main event from 00 to 06, Edge from 05 to 11, and Shawn from 02 to 11.
Shawn Michaels is the clear winner.
