Best video games this generation

I mean Playstation 3, XBOX 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP (the 3DS, and the Vita are considered "8th generation" by Wiki)

With the talk of Red Dead Redemption being one of our favorite games of this console generation, comes a thread.

If RDR isn't your favorite game of this gen, then what is?

If I had to do a top 3...

1.) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
2.) Red Dead Redemption
3.) Mass Effect 2

I highly recommend Last Story as a really fun one that slips under a lot of people's radars.

If nothing else, you can shoot banana peels out of a crossbow and slam your head against signs for fun and profit.

And while I wouldn't call them elite games from this gen, I got equal enjoyment out of SMB Wii, Dissidia, LA Noire and Sonic Colors.

In terms of the games that I played and loved, regardless of flaws that may be present, either at the time or with hindsight, my three would be:

1) Red Dead Redemption
2) Skyrim
3) Assassins Creed (I recognise the sequels are better and all, but the original was brilliant to me)

There are some other games that are great, even exceptional, but those are my top three.

Edit: Additional mention to Arkham Asylum, which has such a great atmosphere and storyline, but is let down by it's boss battles.
