Whenever people talk about AKI's wrestling games, this one often gets overlooked. Anyone else a fan?

Heck yeah, and man, did it ever jsut feel right using the Gamecube controller for it. Few games figured that out as well that wasn't made by Nintendo.

I didn't play this one much, but Fight for New York was the absolute Shit. Which is why it's such a shame that Icon just ended up being shit.

I loved the game. Hated, hated, HATED the tag matches. Just when I have one of them in a position where I can beat them, they sprint all the way to their corner and tag his fresher partner in. This happened so much and it irritated me so badly.

The story for this one and Fight For NY was too incredible for words.

Had a blast with this game. Nyne's flipping Pedigree was my favorite finisher.

Shame some people didn't try this or the sequel because they hate rap. It was easy for me because I am a fan of rap. I loved this game. I thought that the sequel was off the chain. It's a real shame that there was never a true sequel to that one. I have never played Def Jam Icon and people have told me that it's not worth playing.

I'm not a huge rap fan, but I like some, and I loved this game! So much fun. Never played the sequel, though.

More games should let me play as Scarface and beat people up to the music of Scarface.

I preferred the sequel, Mostly for the ability to (and match where you needed to) Throw Danny Trejo in front of a subway train.
Speaking of the Sequel, Starting as Kickboxer was freaking EASY MODE

Does anybody remember how in the first game, if you have a girlfriend, you get to unlock pictures of the girl who she was modeled after? At first, I thought it was going to be the actual game models, but it was actually real people who they were modeled after.
As for that girl Opal, I really think that a lot of people bashed her. She was not that bad looking. The actual model of her looked good I thought. I know people bashed Shaniqua in the second game, but that girl was SUPPOSED to be ugly. Speaking of that girl in that game, I still laugh about the cutscene with her in it and the message you receive from Method Man afterwards. Those sequences were hilarious.

I think that EA moving on from AKI to an in-house production company, EA Chicago, who developed Fight Night: Round 3, was a risk that didn't pay off too good for them. I was (and still am) a big fan of the Fight Night series, but I feel that the AKI engine was better suited for the Def Jam series, especially after playing Icon. I'll give them props for trying to bring something new to the table, but what they brought didn't work out for me.

I have such good memories of playing and beating the first two games with a friend of mine. I remember how stoked I was to finally beat that 3 vs. 1 Handicap match in the first one and the 2 vs. 1 Handicap in FFNY. The roster on FFNY was insane.

I love both games
I liked the one character who was a preacher (Moses I think) and he was kinda like Undertaker in terms of moveset
