Pretty much. Aksana is a nobody and shouldn't be on the roster. They actually think Cesaro will be a big star, and they don't want to have an albatross like Aksana near him. Harsh. So she can't wrestle, as demonstrated by the above match with Kaitlyn that would make even 2007 Orton say "You're overdoing the chinlock a little bit". She can't talk, literally, as she still struggles with English. What can she do?

That was an interesting match, in a sense. I don't think I've ever seen someone apply a chinlock on an opponent for so long. Whoever planned that match deserves some sort of award.

Daniel Bryan and Cesaro did a match in PWG years ago where the whole match consist of Cesaro using a headlock on Bryan for the whole match. For 15 minutes, Bryan was trapped in it before turning it into a pinfall. So maybe one of them did it.

She doesn't seem to struggle with English from what I've seen in recent years.

He doesn't need Aksana, but I don't think she hurt him. Plus the valet role is where she needs to be, as evidenced above.

What did Aksana do as a valet that couldn't be accomplished by paying a local model to accompany a heel to the ring like WWE did with Triple H in 1996?

I don't think she hurt him at all, and her quasi-valet role I think added a bit too his European pretentiousness, with her being Ukranian.

None of those valets ever showed those mannerisms or distractions. And? What did that do for Cesaro? Or, for that matter, what did it do for Ted DiBiase when Maryse did the same thing? Nothing. Them standing at ringside and making faces or whatever helped their guys as much as the random girls with HHH in 1996 sitting in chairs clapping during his matches helped him. HHH/Cesaro didn't need it, and it just made things worse for DiBiase. It did give WWE an excuse to have Aksana/Maryse in matches less often without having to fire them, but that doesn't seem like a good reason to saddle some guy with an anchor.

Because the divas division needed Aksana's full attention.

Or, if he just had to be booked to cheat in order to win the title from Santino for some reason, he could have used a weapon, put his feet on the ropes, etc. Same thing achieved without saddling the guy with a completely unnecessary valet.

I am not against valets, or even her in particular, but stick her with someone who needs her. As Cesaro showed in his match with Sheamus, he gets by just fine without her.

Not to mention, on paper, Maryse and DiBiase's characters were perfect for each other. It's strange. I thought from the moment they were actually put together in that skit with Virgil that it wasn't going to work, and long before Maryse was ever paired with him, I never got the "I think Maryse would make a great valet" comments I would see from time-to-time. Yet, despite that, I probably wouldn't have thought it was that bad of an idea had I heard about it before it actually got implemented on TV. It did make sense at least.

Because the divas division needed Aksana's full attention. ' Why can't Divas, and male wrestlers for that matter, do more than one thing at once? Part of the problem with the product is that everything is too homogenized and streamlined That's why I liked Survivor Series. John Cena & Dolph Ziggler were feuding even though they weren't having a match against each other. It felt fresh, because two wrestlers who were feuding weren't just stuck in a bubble with each other. Why can't Aksana wrestle AND be someone's valet?

Why can't Aksana wrestle AND be someone's valet? Because she's awful at doing either of those things, so why would someone want to see her do both?

And it's not a matter of not being able to do both. It's a matter of some people wanting her to be a valet because they think she's a terrible wrestler and her being a valet would be the perfect excuse to not have her wrestle while not having to fire her, either. And that doesn't just apply to Aksana, either. Whenever someone says "Make (insert Diva) a valet", there's a good chance that person probably doesn't think too highly of that Diva's in-ring skills.
