Think about the rookies we've had this year-
the QB trio of RGIII, Luck, Wilson. 3 terrific running backs in Alfred Morris, Doug Martin, and Trent Richardson. And we have defensive standouts in Bruce Irvin and Janoris Jenkins.
To an extent, 3 rookies from last year- Watt, Von Miller, Aldon Smith- are utterly frightening as sophomores.

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the feeling around the NFL is that the Eagles will make a "heavy push" to land Oregon's Chip Kelly as Andy Reid's head-coaching replacement. HAHAHAHAHAHHA I really doubt that would work. I get the feeling that Kelly is a great college coach but not cut out for the NFL.

I heard some Dolphins fans at the bar at work the other day running their yaps about how they'd take Mark Sanchez over Ryan Tannehill any day. My reaction was pretty much LOLWUT??? Have they never watched Sanchez play? Ever? The answer is in bold, they were drunk.

Have they never watched Sanchez play? Ever? Those are the only Dolphin fans. Most of us like what we've seen from Tannehill and want to get him weapons I thought they were nuts. Tannehill has had a pretty good season considering a lot of players avoided Miami like the plague this past offseason.

Since the 2000 season- the first year post-Marino- Miami has hosted 3 playoff games, won 2 division titles. Buffalo- zippola in both categories.

Giants fans, if your team gets their miracle and sneaks into the playoffs as the 6 seed in the NFC:
they're repeating as SB champs. Period.
They would have all road games, and EVERYBODY knows that Eli is the one guy you are hesitant to bet against on the road.
If they draw Seattle or San Francisco (which is what they'd be stuck into)- they have the 49ers number and Eli is the ONLY guy I give a puncher's chance in Seattle.
Then, they'd draw Atlanta- and of course, you know Eli is the ultimate 1 seed killer.
Who knows- maybe they pull that off, reach the NFC Championship Game, and before you say WHAT, they could be defending their title. AND ELI IS CLUTCH IN THE SUPER BOWL!
Remember the 2008 Eagles- needed multiple things to happen on final week, got them, won their game, got in as 6 seed, and almost crashed the SB party.
In short, do not bury the Giants until they are pronounced dead with a Chicago/Philly win in the early timeslot. Eli/Coughlin are the duo that does not go down easy.

I know we still have a week left, but IMHO, this NFL season has been defined by two moments- one positive, one negative:

THe difference between this year and past years is that they haven't just been losing, they've been getting slaughtered. Usually they turn it on in December, but they've been destroyed by Atlanta and Baltimore. They may sneak in, but they're not going anywhere.

The Giants are playing with a lot of injuries and zero heart. Honestly, I'd be surprised if they beat the Eagles at this point. The Eagles have been awful all season long, but they love playing against the Giants. And I'm sure they'd love nothing more than to give their chief rivals an 8-8 record.
A key thing looked over with last season's playoff run is that the Giants finally got healthy in a lot of key spots, like the offensive line, pass rush, and secondary. This year, the exact opposite happened. The Giants aren't getting into the playoffs with third and fourth string defensive backs and Antrell Rolle playing out of position. Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw are playing hurt and it's had a noticeable effect on their performances, especially Nicks. He just can't run at his usual speed and is missing a lot of the deep bombs that are usually so deadly with him. This also lets the other team's defense double team Cruz on a regular basis and the third receiver isn't nearly as reliable as those two. It also seems like Eli's forgotten Martellus Bennett exists.
They really need to improve both the offensive and defensive lines next year.

Bengals placed first-round rookie CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) on season-ending injured reserve and claimed WR Dane Sanzenbacher off waivers from the Bears.
NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal suggests the Giants could cut ties with LE Justin Tuck this offseason.

What Rotoworld has to say
[Osi] Umenyiora and Tuck top the list of potential big names that could be let go," writes Rosenthal. Tuck, 30 in March, posted back-to-back down seasons in 2011 and 2012. He registered just five sacks last season and enters Week 17 with a meager three sacks. Tuck is due $4.5 million in the final year of a five-year, $30 million deal in 2013.

Aren't Tuck's numbers down because opposing teams can afford to double team him now? Tuck's numbers are down because he's been playing poorly. That's also a big reason the defense has been exposed. The one thing they could do last year was sack the QB to hide the fact that they're secondary is below-average.

Their pass rush in general's been terrible this year. JPP's having a really down year, too. I also get the feeling that Tuck's been playing hurt all season and kept quiet about it until a couple of weeks ago.
I'd be pretty sad if Tuck got cut. He's been one of my favorite players on the Giants and I even have his jersey (though I think if I waited a year I would've gotten Cruz instead), but I could understand why he'd be released.
I don't think Osi's going anywhere though. They just re-signed him to a long-term deal and I think he'd be a pretty big hit to the salary cap.

Osi is definitely done after this year. He restructured his contract during the offseason last year, but he still has this year left on his deal. Tuck on the other hand, is underperforming too much for the contract that they gave him. I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants cut him and he found himself playing for an NFC South team and reigniting his career down there. On the positive side, maybe the release of two mainstays will bring Kiwanuka back to his natural position on the defensive line.
I see a lot of people getting shown the door before their contracts are up on that defense, in the form of Tuck, Webster, Canty and Rolle. I see Kenny Phillips going because he's far too injured to get a proper payday and Stevie Brown has all but replaced him. But as I said before, the defense can suck with or without those guys in the lineup.
Hell, I'd really like to see Gilbride and Fewell get axed in the offseason. The Giants are too good a team to have such long-running series of lapses on both offense and defense.

Since we're near the end of the season, what would you rank as your: Game of the year: New England/San Francisco Play of the year: Nick Foles hits Jeremy Maclin from one yard out with no time left and the Eagles upset Tampa Bay 23-21, ending the Eagles 8-game losing streak. Drive of the year: Andrew Lucks final drive lo lead the Colts to a win over the Packers Upset of the year: Minnesota/Houston and New England/Houston, in that order. Individual game performance of the year: Calvin Johnson 225 receiving yards against Atlanta.
