This is because Dolph is a hometown boy, but has to say that he's from Hollywood Florida.
Also, it's weird that Val Venis was Canadian but had to be from a very American city like Las Vegas. He couldn't be super patriotic American against foreigners, but couldn't join his anti-american friends when ever a bunch of evil Canadians banded together.
Also Kofi's from Boston. no? But can't pull that Hometown Boston card cause "he's from Ghana". Then again it seems like Cena is the only one who can (considering Riley, Tensai, and others are from that area).
I just recently learned that Jake Roberts is from Texas, not Stone Mountain Georgia.
Can you imagine Mick Foley still being billed from Truth or Consequences New Mexico?

In regards to the Boston crowd, Tensai moved to Japan, so it isn't too weird for him to be billed from there. Alex Riley is not from Boston. He graduated from Boston College, but he's from the DC Metro Area.

HHH is not from Greenwich Connecticut, but Nashua New Hampshire. Well, it ended up being prophetic.

He graduated from Boston College, but he's from the DC Metro Area. I'm pretty sure Riley is billed as being from Washington D.C. This day in age, kayfabe hometowns seem awfully silly to me though admittedly I don't expect them to say Kane is from Knoxville, Tennessee. I think D-Young is one of the few guys on the roster to have one these days, as he's from northern NJ but is billed as being from Miami. And of course, Santino is Canadian and not from Italy. The fact that most WWE talent seems to live in Florida or Arizona these days kind of skews the whole 'hometown' thing as well.

Damien Sandow is billed from Palo Alto, California despite being from Massachusetts. I think him being billed from Mass. would actually sound way better than Palo Alto.

Palo Alto is the home of Stanford University, and to put it nicely, some Stanford grads have a reputation for being stuck up, arrogant, know it all pricks, in other words, Damien Sandow. I don't know what North Oxford tells you about him, unless there is some connection to Oxford. I think the Palo Alto name fits him perfectly.

HHH is not from Greenwich Connecticut, but Nashua New Hampshire. Last year, ESPN had polls where fans voted on the greatest sports moments from each of the 50 states; Triple H winning 12 world titles finished 2nd for NH. (First was Carlton Fisk's HR in Game 6 of the '75 World Series, in case you wondered.)

I can't think of anyone who has Charlotte as a kayfabe hometown. Everyone I can think of that's usually billed as Charlotte is from here or has lived here long enough to be a staple.

Val Venis was billed from Vegas to play up his pornstar gimmick. Also, Shawn Stasiak never was able to get a hometown pop. Neither was any masked wrestler in the 80's.
