The wife and I are newlyweds who recently moved into our 1st place together, soooo a lot of our gifts were household things we didnt get as wedding presents...and we had "6 Christmases" so the haul was pretty big. Strangely, for as "boring" as it seems I was overly excited to get crock pots (seriously, 3 of 'em), a paper shredder, a shower caddy, and other cookware/appliances... mainly because it keeps me from spending all that cash on the things we needed.
As for just me, $100+ in various fast food gift cards...one of those "under the shelf" radio/mp3/cd players...some new hats...and tickets to Raw in late April from the wife. The coolest thing about the tickets is that the wife said "That Ambrose guy will probably be a big deal by then", which shows shes paing attention to the dumb stuff I like.

Side note: We dont have kids so ive yet to have the joy of watching my child open a gift BUT I snagged the wife one of those 6 in 1 vintage sereo systems that converts vinyl and cassette to mp3 and she was pumped. She comes from a family of bluegrass musicians and will now be able to convert HUNDREDS of old family albums/demos/recorded practices into digital files. When she opened the gift she wasnt sure what she was looking at, then when she saw it was a vintage style system she instantly smiled...but then when she went to use it nothing would work but the am/fm tuner, which bummed her out....then I realized the problem and switched it from 220 to 110 and everything worked and that made her giddy....then she was kinda bummed because it wouldnt play her mp3s but a simple flick of a switch fixed that and she was pumped again...and finally I realized she hadnt noticed its conversion ability and when I pointed that out SHE WENT NUTS. Not long after that she sent her dad a file of him singing as a teen (complete with puberty pitch changes and cracking voice) with her grandfather --who passed away a few months ago--and well... you can imagine the phone call they had.
In that 20 minutes from opening the gift to the end of that phone call im pretty sure I saw the complete range of human emotion.

I posted my haul earlier but I will explain the latest additions. I got $40 from my uncle with a Christmas card. It was a good gesture. He was my confirmation sponsor and I gave him a gift as well.
Also, in a White Elephant gift exchange at my grandma's house, I got a portable DVD player. It would be of good use for long trips.

$475 dollars (300 from my dad and stepmom, twenty-five from my uncle, fifty from my mom and one-hundred from my other uncle and aunt.) An Old Fashioned Popcorn Maker (along with a starter's kit for said Popcorn Maker and a jar of Orville Reddenbacher popcorn.) Angry Birds in Space Sleeping Pants A sweat-shirt and sweat-pants. Bag of Ghiradelli Caramel Chocolates Travel-size Manicure Set Axe Gift Set (Two different ones, actually) Ghostbusters on DVD (Which was actually a Dirty Santa gift I bought last year that didn't end up being used. Sooooo... I guess I finally got it back.)
I'm quite happy with it overall. I needed the money in a bad way as is so this will make the next few months go much more smoothly.
