Between Capcom and Netherrealm, it'll be Capcom realistically. As awesome as an MK-style WWE game would be (with the gore and fatalities and all), their PG image won't let it fly. Plus, a Street Fighter/MVC WWE game would be sick.

I know the comic strip is just a joke, but the WWE game is developed by Yuke's isn't it? So THQ going out of business(if they do) just means they will have to find a new publisher. So the game isn't likely to be much different to what we're used to.
That said, it would be cool to get a Marvel vs Capcom vs WWE game!

I understand that THQ have a deal with WWE and Yuke's have a deal with THQ. But I'm speaking with no authority, I admit. It just seems to make sense that whoever ends up taking the publishing/licensing contract from THQ would be interested in continuing the deal that is in place. Based on the fact that it's a pretty successful game series. I could quite easily imagine Activision just coming in and assuming THQ's role for example. They love an annual franchise. |
